About Me

The incomparable Colosseum
The incomparable Colosseum

Italy. Where do I even begin? There are very few places in the world that spark such excitement in me. Italy is endlessly captivating. You could visit a hundred times and never have the same experience twice. It’s one of my favorite places to travel personally, and without question one of my favorite places to design custom-crafted journeys for clients. Every region tells a different story, and each one leaves its own mark.

Liguria sits quietly in northwest Italy, bordered by Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, and the Ligurian Sea. It’s a region I adore for its dramatic coastline, fresh cuisine, and effortless beauty. Home to the Italian Riviera, Liguria has long been a retreat for locals and celebrities alike. From the colorful villages of Cinque Terre to the elegance of Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure, the coast is nothing short of magical. And then there’s the food - this is pesto country, and once you’ve tasted it here, nothing else quite compares.

Tuscany may be familiar to many, but truly experiencing it is something else entirely. Florence anchors the region with its Renaissance art and architecture, but Tuscany’s soul lives just as much in its countryside. Rolling hills, cypress trees, vineyard-lined roads, and small hill towns create a landscape that feels timeless. From Chianti to Val d’Orcia, wine lovers are in paradise, with legendary reds like Chianti and Brunello defining the region. Add in coastal Maremma, historic cities like Siena, Pisa, Lucca, and San Gimignano, and rustic, soul-warming cuisine and Tuscany somehow manages to offer everything at once.

In the south, Campania delivers drama in the very best way. With Naples, Capri, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, and the Amalfi Coast all in one region, it’s rich in history, flavor, and unforgettable scenery. Naples, birthplace of pizza, sets the tone with bold cuisine and character, while hiking, boating, and tucked-away gems reward those willing to explore beyond the obvious.

Venice is busy, yes, but it’s also undeniably enchanting. Its canals, masks, and romance are iconic for a reason. And just beyond the crowds lies Verona, one of my personal favorites, steeped in history and literary legend.

Then there’s Rome - a city that feels like an open-air museum layered with luxury, history, and life. There’s simply too much to list, so I’ll say this: Rome is a treasure in every sense of the word.

Puglia, the heel of Italy’s boot, offers a quieter, more understated beauty. Whitewashed towns, rugged coastline, and countryside dotted with olive groves make it effortlessly charming. Places like Ostuni, Lecce, and Polignano a Mare feel authentic, soulful, and deeply rooted in tradition.

I’m running out of words, but I can’t leave out Sicily, Umbria, Calabria, Abruzzo - or one of my favorite cities, Bologna. Italy is a place you can explore forever, and every time, it feels like stepping into a dream you never want to wake up from.

HIRE AN EXPERT!
Reviewed By Kimberly L - SEATTLE | Traveled to Greece ~ Europe
This summer, I hired a travel agent for the first time in my life, and learned one thing: I will NEVER book another trip by myself. Working with Mike Salvadore was quick, easy, completely painless, and absolutely fabulous! When I called Mike, I was extremely far behind on my travel plans-I was simply stuck. I was traveling to a country that I'd never visited, and I didn't know where to begin.

Mike met with me for a short period of time, and asked me questions about the types of things that my family likes to do on vacation, as well as budget and timing. The next thing I knew, Mike & his team presented a detailed presentation of our trip. This was not an easy trip to book. The trip included flights to several island locations, cars to inland destinations, and local-flavor excursions. One great surprise was the wondrful private tour guide that took us to see the ruins in Delphi and Olympia. Mike also found the MOST fabulous hotels, And most importantly, it was all EASY !
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Through those journeys i was able to reach Milan, Venice, Verona, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples, Amalfi Coast, Bari, B...
