About Me

In the bustling heart of Japan, where tradition meets innovation, I embarked on a journey that intertwined the ancient with the modern: a visit to Tokyo and Kyoto. The neon lights of Tokyo greeted me with their dazzling spectacle as I ventured into the lively streets of Shibuya. Towering skyscrapers vied for attention against the teeming crowds below, each individual engrossed in their unique Tokyo narrative. I was captivated by the orderly chaos, where trendy youths and hurrying salarymen intermingled effortlessly. My days in Tokyo were filled with discovery. From the tranquil gardens of the Imperial Palace, home to koi fish gliding in crystal ponds, to the breathtaking vistas from the Tokyo Skytree, the city sprawled below me like a dynamic entity. Harajuku charmed me with its eccentric fashion and vibrant spirit, while Asakusa took me on a journey through time with its venerable Senso-ji Temple, a steadfast presence among a throng of souvenir stalls and the scent of incense. But the Tokyo nights were what truly etched themselves into my memory. The illuminated avenues of Shinjuku turned the city into a scene from the future, with karaoke bars inviting raucous joy and intimate izakayas revealing the secrets of Japanese gastronomy. In the midst of the noise, I discovered pockets of peace in secluded lanes, where small ramen shops offered bowls of solace and the mirth of locals resonated off the walls. The Tsukiji Fish Market was alive with activity, compelling me to savor the freshest sushi available.

Leaving the pulsating energy of Tokyo behind, I boarded the Shinkansen bound for Kyoto, a city steeped in history and tradition. As I emerged from Kyoto Station, I was greeted by the towering gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha, where thousands of vermilion torii gates led me on a winding path through the sacred forest. The air was thick with reverence and the scent of incense, as pilgrims whispered prayers and the resident fox statues stood sentinel. In Kyoto, time seemed to slow down. I spent tranquil mornings sipping matcha in traditional tearooms, where the rituals of the tea ceremony unfolded like a delicate dance of grace and mindfulness. The streets of Gion transported me to the world of geisha and maiko, their elegant forms gliding past wooden machiya houses illuminated by softly glowing lanterns. The temples and gardens of Kyoto offered glimpses into Japan’s spiritual and artistic heritage. At Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion shimmered serenely amidst its mirror-like pond, while at Ryoan-ji, the enigmatic rock garden invited contemplation. Arashiyama’s bamboo grove whispered secrets of ancient wisdom, its towering stalks swaying gently in the breeze as I wandered along moss-covered paths. As my journey drew to a close, I found myself forever changed by the juxtaposition of Tokyo’s modernity and Kyoto’s timeless beauty. Japan had unfolded before me like a delicate origami masterpiece, each fold revealing a new facet of its rich culture and profound history. And as I bid farewell to the Land of the Rising Sun, I carried with me not just memories, but a deep appreciation for a country that seamlessly blends the old and the new, the traditional and the avant-garde. My next trip will extend to further cities across Japan.

A perfect family trip!
Reviewed By Cathy - Seattle, WA | Traveled to Florida ~ USA
I have returned from my 3 week trip to visit family all around the nation (left April 3rd, back 23rd). The flying was easy and the connections perfect. For my return trip, I had a 5 hour flight from Detroit to SeaTac and called Delta customer service, sweetly asking for a window seat at least for this 1 leg of my return, and I got windows for both legs. Very good service there, including PreCheck. Thanks for all the great planning, Retty!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

I had a concern about the seaweed in Cancun, of course no one could really predict what it would be like. He looked for other opinions but also assured that this secrets would be a nice trip. It was great. My husband and I will go back!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
