I was born in Saskatoon and moved to Humboldt, Sk.when I was 23 years old to open a restaurant. I had always worked in the service industry but I knew I wanted to do something else....my Dream Job!. My Dream Job was to be a Travel Agent. The idea of sending people to amazing destinations and seeing them so excited and happy was what I envisioned. I bought a franchise with Thunderbird Travel and was trained at the head office Saskatoon. I opened Thunderbird Travel in Humboldt on Feb 14, 1999. There was lots to learn but it was exactly like I thought it would be. People came into the office to book their vacations, others stopped by for coffee to tell me about their trips etc. I moved back to Saskatoon in 2004 and work at Thunderbird Travel head office until the agency closed in 2006. After that I managed Uniglobe Travel for almost 10 years. I loved my job but I wanted to go back to my "Dream Job" booking peoples dream vacations without dealing with budgets, schedules etc. After a lot of consideration and planning I opened my own home based agency Feb 14, 2019 (exactly 20 years after I started in the travel business). The agency name Forrest Travel is names after my father who always told me I could do anything I set my mind to and Dad was always right! It has been the best decision I have ever made. I now book my clients vacations and have coffee with them and hear about their trp and see their excitement and happiness.

Through my years as an agent I have been able to travel to many exotic destinations including Maldives, Fiji, Bora Bora, Moorea, Cook Islands, Belize, Greek Islands, Bali, Thailand, Roatan, Hawaii, Dubai as well as many areas of Mexico and lots of Islands in the Caribbean including St Lucia, Cuba, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, St Thomas, St Maarten, St Croix, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Antigua, Jamaica and my absolute favorite Bahamas. I have been to Breezes Bahamas 6 times (We got engaged there the first time I took my now husband. It was his first hot vacation ever) We also went to Riu Paradise Island and to Sandals Royal Bahamian 3 times. The 3rd time we were at Sandals we got married on the beach. It was a beautiful ceremony with just the two of us, the reverend, photographer and wedding coordinator. I guess that is why Bahamas is my favorite :) I have the book 501 Must Visit Islands and I am working on checking them off!We have kids in Los Angeles and are lucky to be able to go see them lots and take the grand kids to see Mickey and The Wizarding World of Harry at Universal. I still have not seen Brad Pitt lol. Sometimes we take a quick flight to Vegas on the way home. You never now when you need a new Coach bag or new Guess Sunglasses :)

When I was a kid I always dreamt about going to Jamaica. I am not sure why Jamaica but I new I would get there someday. This is still my "Dream Job"
