Cruise the Caribbean

If you want to experience many countries, but have a home base to return to each night, then try a cruise. I have been on several Caribbean cruises myself, with another coming up soon, and the options are endless.You can do a short four-night cruise to the Bahamas or a longer seven-night exploration of the western Caribbean.

I love that I can pack and unpack only once, but can see three to four different countries within the week. During the day, I can explore San Juan, Saint Thomas, or Jamaica, see a new place each day, but return to the ship at night, have dinner, see a show and repeat the adventure the very next day in a new place!

Cruise ships themselves are considered destinations nowadays, with great bands, specialty restaurants, and live theater shows. Gone are the days of standing in a buffet line for every meal or dining at a table with six or more strangers; now, you can enjoy a nice steak dinner or sushi roll and enjoy a higher class lifestyle.

I specifically recommend Royal Caribbean or Norwegian Cruise Lines to my customers, because not only do I have great personal experiences with both, but their technology is above par. I love that I can go to their app on my phone and book my excursions, check in online, add water packages, all before I even board the ship. When I’m aboard, I can do the same thing - I can see the daily plans, where bingo is located, and even text with my teenage daughter to see where she is or let her know where to meet for lunch. The technology really sets these cruise lines above the others and for a person who likes to plan ahead, it’s great to be able to make dinner reservations so far in advance. I highly recommend daily planned excursions when you go off-ship to truly see your port of call. Don’t just get off the boat and think you’re going to wing it - each ship holds 4,000-7,000 people so that’s a lot of people in port. However, with a planned excursion, you can be quickly swept away to your next adventure - like swimming with the dolphins!
