On Day 2 of my trip to Edinburgh Scotland I had signed up to do a purse workshop at a local shop in Edinburgh called the Islander to make an authentic Harris Tweed purse. I knew this would be the perfect keepsake and souvenir to bring back home with me from my trip to Scotland. This purse workshop is offered at the Islander. You need to sign up ahead of time and there is a cost to do this. The class size is limited so booking ahead is a MUST. When you first arrive you get to pick out the color and design you choose. The instructor will teach you step by step on how to make your purse. This was around an hour in length. Not only do you get to keep the purse you made but there is also a shop that you can purchase other types of bags that all have the famous Harris Tweed plaid print. Shop til you drop with this local Scottish experience.

on Day 5 of the Avalon Waterways River Cruise we had the optional included tour to visit a local winery and sample some locally produced wine. It was a great time seeing how it is made and stored until ready to be bottled and sold.
