Asian Adventures

Asia is a fascinating area of the world that I think everyone should visit at least once in their life.  In my quest to learn as much as I can about the culture, food and religions throughout Asia, I have visited China and Thailand twice, Japan, Bhutan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and India.  I include India in this category because it borders Nepal, Bhutan, China and Myanmar. 

While I have enjoyed my visits to all these countries, India is the country I have loved the most.  From the moment you step out of the airport, you realize you are in a truly special place.  The colors, the smells, the sounds all hit you at once.  Then you see the monkeys running through the streets, you notice the loud honking of cars everywhere and you get your first glimpse of a beautiful Indian woman with intricate henna on her hands and arms.  You are told that she is a new bride, as she is wearing traditional wedding bangles on her arms.  The wedding bangles are made of different materials and different colors, depending on what area of India the bride is from.  What a lovely tradition.
