Family vacations should be full of memories — not meltdowns. As a travel agent and a mom of two girls (currently 12 and 16), I know firsthand the challenges and rewards of traveling with teenagers. I’ve spent years crafting trips that strike the right balance between exploration and engagement — for both kids and adults.

My philosophy? Show them the world, but do it in a way that feels fun, interactive, and age-appropriate. Teens don’t always want to walk through museums all day or follow a rigid adult itinerary — and that’s okay! I help families plan trips that include a mix of culture, adventure, downtime, and excitement, tailored to the interests and energy levels of teens. 

Some of the teen-approved experiences I often build into trips include:

* Cooking classes or food tours (think pizza-making in Rome or taco tasting in Mexico City
* Zip-lining, parasailing, or waterfall hikes in the Caribbean or Central America
* Art walks, graffiti tours, or anime shops in cities like London, Tokyo, or NYC
* Beach days with built-in activities like paddleboarding or snorkeling
* Theme parks, water parks, and high-energy resorts with teen lounges and hangouts
* Hands-on workshops like glassblowing in Venice, chocolate-making in Paris, or street art in Berlin
* Scavenger hunts, tech-based tours, or free time in safe areas so they feel some independence

And most importantly, I make sure there’s balance: enough structure to keep things flowing, but enough flexibility that teens don’t feel micromanaged.
