Botswana & Okavango Delta Safari

Sundowners in the Okavango Delta!

Having grown up in Africa and worked in the travel industry there, I have had the pleasure of experiencing safari all over the continent, however, Botswana offers something special and keeps calling me back!

What makes Botswana unique is the amazing Okavango Delta - the only inland flowing delta in the world. This creates a unique wetland ecosystem offering a diverse range of wildlife, and with the opportunity to view animals from the vantage point of the water. In addition to land safari game drives, the Okavango Delta offers "mokoro" (dug out canoe) safari where one is gently poled along the waterways with the opportunity to see antelope, birds, and frogs. On the wider waterways, motorboat rides are offered to view elephants and hippos in the water.

Just getting to the Delta is an experience in itself, with a flight on either a small charter flight or helicopter. From the air, you can see the spectacular delta's wetlands, rivers, lagoons, islands, and marsh and there is a good chance you will see elephants, giraffes, hippos, and buffalo with a bird's eye view!

Make sure to combine the Okavango with a stay in Savute and Chobe for a complete Botswana Safari experience. Close by is the Victoria Falls, and there is also the option to add northern Namibia to this itinerary!
