My favorite travel companion

I’m currently in Houston but have spent 16 years living in Germany while traveling to many nearby countries. So walking through the major cities of Berlin, Prague, Munich, Nuremberg, and Bertschegaden are very familiar.  We played in the fields just before the Black Forest, camped on the grounds of medieval castles listening to voices from years ago as they whispered a sweet lullaby. I learned to swim in the Rhine River rather quickly.  Ask me about that one! I watched my Father and his regiment sport jump throughout the region and we thought nothing of a meal of hard bread and cheese followed by chocolates and downed with bier as normal. Isn't that how all kids grew up? College took me back to my days as a skier!

Then, as life progressed and the world turned I used to own a dive shop and toured around the Caribbean looking for the best spots to explore.  I fell in love with the sand and the colors of the Caribbean.  The call of the natives still fills my heart.  We spend our time interacting with the islanders to belong with them, not have them belong to us.  We taste the rum, the tequila, the life.  Experience the land and what it offers up.  Enjoying a horseback ride through time and ocean is very liberating.  Decide if the water loves you or you love the water through scuba, river rafting, snorkeling, swimming, fishing and more.  Zip line through the trees and embrace it all or ATV it to go further and deeper than a car.

I have also spent extended time in France, Austria, China, and numerous African countries. Travel is good for the spirit.

I fully believe that traveling makes a person more well-rounded and happy in life. I want everyone to experience the magic of scenic lands and exciting new cultures, and that is why I try to mix charity events into traveling. Throughout the year, I look for new ways of combining charities and traveling so that people everywhere can get the most out of life. Currently, I am working with the American Cancer Association to create a fundraising cruise that brings survivors and their families together to raise awareness while also having an amazing time.  And, we are proud members of the Michael Jay Fox Foundation and Houston Area Parkinson's Society.  We help make travel that might seem impossible, possible!
