As parents we give so much of ourselves day in and day out to our families.  It can be difficult to keep the relationship with your partner strong as we manage all the things.  Show your kiddos what a strong partnership looks like by taking time for each other.  Put yourselves and your relationship first for a weekend or week.  

Travel gives us the opportunity to explore together, experience new things together, and have the time to truly focus on one another.  Mr. Lang and I have taken adult only vacations since our kids were toddlers.  It was difficult to leave them, but we also trusted the grandparents and knew they would create special memories on their own with the kids.  We had rules on date nights and vacations as to how much we could talk about the kids or parenting.  The goal was for us to have time together.  It's the best advice I can share to new parents; remember you are a person outside of being a parent and keeping connected with your partner takes work.  Vacations can help with keeping that in mind!
