About Me

Angela Hughes is a leading Antarctica travel expert, CEO of Trips and Ships Travel, and founder of Luxury Travel University. With extensive experience traveling aboard expedition ships and consulting with top cruise brands, Angela designs fully curated Antarctica journeys for travelers seeking the ultimate polar experience. Her programs include small-ship expeditions, zodiac landings, wildlife encounters, photography opportunities, and immersive educational programming guided by polar experts.

Antarctica offers daily exploration with zodiac landings, wildlife viewing, and expert-led education that helps travelers understand the continent’s ecosystems, ice formations, and history. Guests experience close encounters with penguins and whales, sail through iceberg channels, and learn from naturalists who guide every moment. This blend of adventure, scenery, and science defines an authentic Antarctic journey.

Antarctica remains one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations, known for its dramatic icebergs, glaciers, wildlife, and pristine landscapes.

Angela designs itineraries that include the Antarctic Peninsula, Lemaire Channel, Paradise Bay, Neko Harbour, and iceberg-filled waterways that showcase the untouched beauty of the Seventh Continent. Travelers experience penguin colonies, whales, seals, and seabirds in their natural habitat through daily landings and zodiac excursions.

Angela partners with the world’s top expedition cruise lines, including Seabourn, Silversea, Ponant, HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions), Aurora Expeditions, Quark Expeditions, Oceanwide, and Lindblad via National Geographic. These ships offer ice-class navigation, expert guides, naturalists, historians, biologists, and geologists who create an educational and enriching experience for every guest.

Her Antarctica programs often include adventure activities such as kayaking, camping on ice, polar plunges, snowshoeing, and paddle excursions. Many voyages incorporate photography instruction with onboard photo experts, creating opportunities for travelers to capture iconic wildlife, glaciers, and polar light. The Lemaire Channel, often called Kodak Gap, provides some of the most photogenic scenery in the world.Angela also designs fly-cruise itineraries that begin in Punta Arenas, allowing travelers to skip the Drake Passage and fly directly to King George Island. This option is ideal for guests who want to maximize time on the continent.

For extended programs, she builds South Georgia and Falkland Islands itineraries featuring king penguin colonies, historical sites, and diverse wildlife.Travelers rely on Angela because she simplifies complex logistics, manages ship selection, cabin categories, adventure add-ons, crossing-the-circle itineraries, chartered programs, and seasonal timing.

Antarctica operates primarily from November to March, with each month offering unique wildlife behavior, ice conditions, and photography opportunities. Angela tailors each itinerary to match the traveler’s interests, experience level, and comfort with adventure.Antarctica appeals to photographers, families, couples, solo travelers, and multi-generational groups seeking meaningful, nature-focused experiences.

Reviewed By Heidi - Utah | Traveled to
After working in the travel industry for 17 years, I am very picky about who I use to coordinate our travel. Angela just booked a Mediterranean cruise for my family and I couldn't have been happier with her superior knowledge and outstanding customer service. We also attended a humanitarian mission last summer that Angela coordinated. I was so impressed with entire experience! I would recommend Angela and her company to anyone.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

France Tour
Reviewed By Jan D. - Utah | Traveled to France ~ Europe
Just wanted to let you know that my daughter and I had a great trip to France! Everything worked out beautifully without the stress of making all the arrangements myself as I have done before.??????? We took the option of going to the beaches of Normandy have been there before but I was anxious for my daughter to see them as my father was part of the first assault on day. We had a great tour guide, Jonathan Holburn was was very knowledgeable, helpful and funny.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Thanks for encouraging me
Reviewed By Linda - Bedford | Traveled to India ~ Central Asia

We r still in India, I am loving it, the people are so nice. It amazes me how people in US are so frightened. I keep getting messages about, are you afraid, bet you can’t wait to come home, I would never go there. I guess I asked you if I was safe, but I was still going.

Anyway, thanks for encouraging me. I look forward to going home and opening peoples minds. You have an awesome job, you make the world smaller for people, you open people minds, hearts and change lives for the better.

I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

I do not have much international travel experience, so I was looking for a travel agent that did. In that, I decided to team up with Angela to plan my trip to Greece. She has been there many times and I found that so helpful to plan. She was professional, offered her experienced opinion and ultimately, the trip was amazing.

Ireland Anniversary Trip
Reviewed By Brian C - Winter Garden | Traveled to Ireland ~ Europe
We started our journey in Dublin Ireland from there, we went to the Cliffs of Moher, which were absolutely stunning. We also visited Galway, stayed at the Ashford castle, and journeyed to Edinburgh, and the Scottish Highlands. In St. Andrews, where we visited the famous golf course and watched The Open tournament which was a highlight for me.

One of the best parts of the trip was how green everything was. It was so nice to see all the greenery and the beautiful landscapes. The people were also very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was an amazing trip and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about travelling to these two countries. This was our first guided tour with Trafalgar and it was the right choice for me and saved me a lot of hassle. We would definitely choose the guided option again. Angela helped us with all of the details and even though this had been postponed with covid she still helped us make it happen! Happy wife = Happy life
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
