Girls trip to Napa! First stop - Nickel & Nickel
Since childhood, I have been the traveling the world. In fact, I got my first passport at the mere age of 6 months old. Both my parent and I have lived abroad several times. Because of I have traveled extensively and lived in a variety of places, I have the insight needed to a competent travel agent and trip planning specialist.
To complement my travel knowledge and skills, I have developed a true love for wine and food. In fact, I have parlayed this love into a role as Wine and Food Travel Specialist for the U.S. and Europe. My initiation into the world of culinary arts began when I was attending college in Charleston, South Carolina.
During my time in Charleston, I worked in several upscale, fine-dining establishments where I was introduced to fine wines. Eventually, I became a Certified Sommelier, which allowed me to travel and visit wineries and vineyards. These experiences increased my interest in fine wines and inspired me to create trips focused on wine sampling and 5-start dining experiences,
A combination of interests and skills in wine tasting, fine cuisine, and travel has given me the know-how needed to plan the ideal foodie or gourmet lover's vacation - a trip that features travel to wineries, the best of the best Michelin restaurants, luxury resorts such as Auberge du Soleil or Relais & Chateaux properties, or complete travel packages curated in collaboration with some of our preferred global partners not limited to Abercrombie & Kent and Avanti Destinations.
I consider myself an inveterate traveler, as I have had a myriad of travel experiences and am always seeking new travel adventures. As a seasoned traveler, I have visited numerous destinations through the U.S. and Europe, and have journeyed through northern Africa, Australia, and Latin America. Therefore, I know my love for travel will never wane. It is this type of desire that makes me want to work as a travel agent and specialist - someone who can help other people see, like me, a meaning and purpose in traveling the world.
As a Wine and Food Travel Specialist for the U.S. and Europe, I have taken and planned a variety of vacations for connoisseurs of fine wine and food. These trips have allowed my clients to experience U.S. travel in the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Virginia's Shenandoah valley, and the Willamette Valley in Oregon.
I have also planned wine and food holidays in Northern Italy, throughout Spain, across Portugal, and in various destinations in Australia. As your travel agent and advisor, with contacts in the culinary field, I can plan a trip for you like no other. Not only can I locate the best flight deals, hotels, restaurants, and wineries, I can also find and book travel packages that feature fine wine and cuisine.

Amazing Trip to Taos

Cara really has an keen eye for detail and helped us find an awesome house on our last vacation mountain trip to Taos. Not only was it centrally located (1/2 way between the mountains and the town) but bigger than we had hoped for, and the hot tub was clutch after the strenuous days tearing up the slopes at the ski resort. On top of that, we got a phenomenal travel deal by staying an extra day, and getting a multi-day vacation discount! Will definitely use her services again when we head out West! 5 out of 5 stars!

Amazing trip to Charleston!

I CANNOT thank Cara enough for helping us plan our trip to Charleston. We were able to stay at the most beautiful hotel Emeline, which was perfect during Covid with their outdoor open air courtyard and cozy fireplace. Cara's dinner recommendations were unmatched! We especially loved the variety of listings she offered from casual lunch atmosphere at Leon’s to a luxurious perfectly seared filet at Hall Chophouse. We will definitely be calling Cara for future vacation planning!

Girl's Trip to Napa

Cara is an excellent planner which lends well to travel logistics and organizing. Our trip to Napa and Sonoma was perfectly executed. We had days worth of itinerary that she coordinated with her wine industry contacts. Some of our daily vacation activities included winery exploration and wine tastings at several Napa valley locations and our lodging and dinner reservations were all carefully curated to make the most of our holiday. We had such a great trip and travel experience that I know it all started with excellent & reliable strategic planning and well thought out destinations. Group Trip to Lake Tahoe

Cara recently curated a Lake Tahoe girls trip for 10 of us in September 2020. Her attention to detail is second to none. To start, Cara found and booked our rental dream home that checked all our requirements. The house exceeded everyone’s expectations and even came with a couple of upgrades we didn’t know we would enjoy, such as a sauna and gourmet kitchen. Cara also planned a number of vacation activities for the week, all while taking into consideration our limitations due to the pandemic. Cara also hand selected several cases of wine for our group and had them waiting at the house upon our arrival along with our groceries and other trip necessities. She even found a local cheese shop that was 5 minutes from the house and told us what selection paired well with the wine that she had picked out. Cara made it a true vacation by taking all the planning off our hands, allowing us to finally relax.

Bachelorette weekend in NOLA!

Cara planned my bachelorette vacation weekend in New Orleans, LA. She found the cutest villa and flawlessly coordinated transportation to and from the airport for 10 girls, arriving from multiple locations around the US. When we arrived at our private house we had personally curated gift bags waiting for each of us! Overall we had a weekend full of excellent food, great wine, lots of live music and fun activities! Cara even planned a bicycle food & wine tour that included lunch at the famous restaurant Cochon! I can't recommend Cara enough for whatever vacation you have planned, she will not disappoint!

A once in a lifetime trip!

Cara took the stress and overwhelming feeling of planning a trip such as our trip to California. We truly didn't know where to start. We traveled to San Francisco to Yosemite then Monterey Bay, Santa Barbara, and final stop in Los Angeles. It was our first time going to California and wanted to see has much as possible in 10 days. Her advice and guidance was invaluable and she narrowed down two choices of hotels in each location making the decision much easier for us. All locations were safe, clean, and located ideally for what we explained was our priority.

Weekend in Colorado!

I used Cara's services for a trip to Denver in the Fall of 2019. This was a last minute trip, so I really appreciated all of the time and energy it saved me to have her invaluable assistance in arranging transportation to and from the airport, booking my accommodations, and making recommendations /reservations for local restaurants. She was able to find terrific lodging, which met some of my picky requirements, meanwhile the restaurants she booked exceeded my dining expectations. I always prioritize finding the best food in a new destination, and it was so nice to dine well on her planning. Napa/Sonoma First Trip

Cara created a fantastic Napa/Sonoma trip for me and my husband this summer. It was our first wine country experience and everything was perfect. She arranged experiences at vineyards that will last a life time like tastings in the cave at Miner and learning about Biodynamic farming at DaVero. Best Trip for Teens AND Parents!

Parents anniversary trip from Liverpool to London!

Bucket List Trip to Switzerland!

Cara came through again with another amazing, seamless trip. We always use Cara for our travels, especially more detailed trips with lots of logistics. This time was the perfect balance of fun, adventurous, and relaxing. Flights and car rental transfer were easy. The Airbnb was stunning with beautiful sunset views of Costa Rica every night and a whole private chef team for all breakfasts and multiple dinners. I did horseback riding, an ATV tour, and surfing which were some of the most fun travel adventures I’ve ever done! Every dinner was delicious, whether it was private chef or restaurant. Any hiccup on the trip I didn’t even notice because Cara was on top of solving it before any guests even knew what was happening, such as communicating with tour guides or the chef’s team if they were running late. It was clear that every detail of the itinerary had been thoughtfully planned. If you want to just focus on your vacation without any of the stress of planning or being in a foreign coun

I honestly feel like words can’t sum up how incredible this trip was! Cara took care of every single, little detail from moment it started! We stayed on the Big island which allowed for practically every adventure you can think of doing in Hawaii! We snorkeled with sea turtles, octopus and eels on a canoe trip! Traveled through the Hawaiian countryside horseback while learning about its rich culture with breaks at beautiful waterfalls along the way. We even got to experience manta rays from mere inches away! Not to mention the incredible resort she found for us that suited our family so perfectly! This trip felt like a true vacation! Dream Trip to Spain

Cara is very friendly and knowledgable, as well as super responsive. She worked with me to create a trip that checked all my boxes, and she was quick to help out when I was in panic mode without feeding into my panic (perfect balance). We saw important cultural sites, as well as important (to us) pop culture sites. We ate well and enjoyed the restaurant recommendations (particularly La Burbjueria in Madrid, an absolutely fantastic culinary experience). Our half- and full-day tours were a fantastic way to get to know our destinations. Our hotels were beautiful, I will definitely consider the Mercer again. Over all, it was a busy, fun, educational trip with lots of good food and wine, which is exactly what I wanted!

Cara was incredibly helpful and accommodating to all of our requests and needs for our trip. She was flexible and very easy to communicate with whenever we had questions or wanted to make changes prior to the trip and during. We were very specific with the types of hotels and activities we wanted, requesting a bespoke experience that included local experiences. She put together an itinerary that included hiking, cooking, bike riding, and sightseeing. She helped decide on locations right off the bat that would include multiple destinations but still be relaxing for our honeymoon, and then we did a mixture of fun activities and lounge days based off her suggestion and sent us lots of hotel options. We felt secure and taken care of the entire trip, with a local point of contact at all times and drivers that picked us up and dropped us off at airports and activities. A Trip Fro the Books!

Asking Cara to help plan this trip was the best decision I made! My brother was born with Spina Bifida. He wanted to travel to Europe for his 40th birthday. Europe is not known for its accessibility, so I figured I should get some help so we can see as much as possible that was accessible. Everything she planned that was in her power was A++. I chose the pkg where we tell her what we like and what we want to do and she arranged everything, all travel and tours. At every destination we had ADA assistance set up, and a ride to take us to our destination. She arranged seamless travel between 5 cities and 4 countries. All of our tours were exceptional and wheelchair accessible. She also made dinner reservations on travel days so we didn’t have to look for food on travel days. It was a tremendous relief being able to just wake up and go and not having to worry if where we were going or doing was accessible. I fully intend to request Cara’s services on future trips!

We were adding a three-day stay to an already booked trip to Italy for my family of 7, when I found Cara by chance doing a google search. I am so very thankful that I did. Not knowing much about Paris, I was needing help in planning this part of the trip. East Coast Beach Trip

Cara is beyond 5-stars AMAZING. Not only is she an extremely knowledgeable travel agent and a sheer delight to work with, she goes above and beyond to make your trip oh so much more than a simple vacation package. She provided us a true travel experience, from start to finish. Not being pro planners, we decided on a friends trip to Charleston, SC mid-pandemic, about 3 weeks before our desired date. This beach holiday was much more than we expected: groceries and a box of hand selected wines to pair with our meals were waiting for us along with a fabulous welcome basket when we arrived. She also hooked us up with dinner reservations at an equally gorgeous and delicious oceanfront restaurant, bike reservations for the week, and a whole itinerary of pandemic friendly places to visit. Long rave review short, my crew and I will not plan another adventure without Cara’s expertise. If you’re looking for a beautifully packaged experience, you've most definitely come to the right place!

Words cannot even describe how perfect this trip was, from start to finish. We hadn't been to Napa before, and we're planning on just winging it, but then a friend told us to speak to Cara and I am SO happy we did. First, she suggested staying in Yountville vs Napa, which we were so happy we did upon arrival. From there it just got better and better. The hotel was PERFECTION. She planned the entire itinerary, and included things we never would have thought of, ie electric bikes (which made our wine tasting adventure so much more fun), the perfect selection of wineries for us (including one with a classic rock theme as we are music lovers), and a champagne picnic lunch (which I didn't even know was a thing and was definitely a highlight). She based it all on who we are and what we like, which truly made all of the difference in the world. Thank you Cara, for making dreams we didn't even know to dream come true!

I cannot say enough good things about working with, Cara! I had been wanting to plan a Europe trip for sometime and decided on super short notice (Tuesday) that I wanted to leave by the weekend. I called Cara that same day and I had my hotels and flight booked within the next 48 hours. Because it was such short notice, we planned activities as I was traveling which made the experience more fun as I could ask for suggestions from locals in each place as well as Cara’s suggestions. I have to say that there were several experiences on this trip that are now in my “top 10 best memories” bank! Cara made excellent suggestions (ask about food and wine!), was available any time I had a question or even wanted to share a cool encounter, and was incredibly affordable. She planned a custom package with exactly what I was looking for with a minutes notice and it was EXTRAORDINARY!!! I can’t recommend Cara enough!! Thank you!
