About Me

Fall hike to Mt Fitzroy in El Chaltén, Argentina
Fall hike to Mt Fitzroy in El Chaltén, Argentina

In 2011, I moved to Valparaíso, Chile for a job. What was meant to last a year, turned into two, and sparked an intense love for South America. I went on to spend two years living in Montevideo, Uruguay, and eventually had a short stint living in Medellín, Colombia. During the past decade, I’ve backpacked extensively throughout Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Perú, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Colombia - with Brazil next on my list! While hiking goals have largely been what has led me to some of the most incredible places on Earth, I’ve also been drawn to one-of-a-kind beaches, towns, and opportunities to see wildlife.

As a solo female traveler, I have a distinctive perspective on how to navigate unfamiliar places. I’ve spent years traveling slowly around South America and can help others as they dream of exploring the Andes, unique beaches, and wildlife refuges. I have had the fortune of connecting with many people throughout the continent and can help travelers find special cultural and culinary experiences. I've helped people plan once-in-a-lifetime trips to places they wouldn't have thought to go before - beach hopping up the Chilean, Uruguayan, and Colombian coasts; exploring the salt flats, flamingo filled lakes, and hot springs in Uyuni, Bolivia; exploring the Sacred Valley of Perú; hiking to find 80-million-year-old dinosaur footprints in remote places in Bolivia; stargazing in the Andean Altiplano; hiking in the Atacama desert; biking from winery to winery in Mendoza, Argentina; and exploring the seemingly infinite varieties of fruit available at the markets in Colombia. There’s so much to see and do across this vast continent, and I can help you choose the best path for what you to experience.

South America is rich with natural beauty and fascinating cultures. Where do you want to go?

Experiencing Patagonia

My most memorable trip was the first time I backpacked through Patagonia. It was my first real solo trip lasting longer than just a few days, and it was part of a growing passion of mine to travel slowly and really experience the places and cultures. It gave me an opportunity to connect with people in way that I could never do when I only have a few fleeting moments in one place. It taught me to pack lighter, trust strangers, trust myself, and savor moments. Patagonia quickly became one of my favorite regions on Earth. Just a few years later I went back for a longer trip, and now I have plans to return once again, specifically to hike the O Circuit in Torres de Paine.
