I've been 5 times and I'm still not tired of it. That's the only endorsement that actually means anything.

I'm Britt, a Florida-based travel advisor specializing in Disney destinations — and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii is genuinely one of my favorite places on earth. Not just as an advisor. As a person who has spent a lot of time there and keeps choosing to go back.

What Aulani Actually Is

Aulani is not a typical beach resort. It's not a typical Disney resort either. It's something completely its own — Disney quality and Disney detail, wrapped in authentic Hawaiian culture, on one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline on Oahu. The cultural programming here is genuinely meaningful, not performative. The Ko Olina lagoon is stunning. The pool situation — lazy river, waterslides, snorkeling — is exceptional. The character experiences are unmatched if you have young kids who love Disney.And the vibe is different from Walt Disney World in every good way. Slower. More intentional. The kind of place that actually lets you exhale.

Who Aulani Is For

Families with young kids who want Disney magic and a real beach vacation at the same time. Disney fans celebrating a milestone — anniversary, birthday, honeymoon. Couples who want something more meaningful than a standard resort stay. Anyone who has ever looked at Hawaii and thought "I want to go but I don't know where to start."I'll also tell you who it's not for: budget travelers, people who don't care about Disney theming, anyone expecting a traditional Hawaiian resort experience. Aulani is a premium product at a premium price and it delivers on that — but you need to go in with eyes open.

- The cultural programming is not to be skipped. It's what separates Aulani from every other resort in Hawaii.
- The lagoon is the highlight. Private, calm, clear — it's what Ko Olina was built around and it's as good as it looks.
- Room category matters. Not every upgrade is worth it. I'll tell you which ones are.
- 5 nights minimum. You're flying to Hawaii. Give yourself time to actually be there.
- The $22 poolside cocktail is a real thing. Budget accordingly and enjoy it anyway.
