I started my career in the travel industry in California 40 years ago, first working for an airline and then a tour company that specialized in trips to Hawaii. I have been a travel consultant since my return to Rhode Island in 1985.  It was with the Hawaiian tour company that started my love affair with tropical islands and destinations.  Over the years, I've traveled to Europe, Hawaii, many Caribbean islands, Mexico, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia and islands on the Great Barrier Reef, learning about what made each destination special, the nuances and the culture of the people.  When life would get stressful and I needed a break, my signature phrase was always, 'I need a palm tree!'  And then, off I went to some palm fringed island to relax, unwind and discover another little piece of heaven.  With each tropical destination I visited, it gave me an overwhelming sense of joy and happiness.  Therefore, in planning getaways for travelers or honeymoon couples, it was to have their trip enhanced in the ways that that they would experience the same joy as I did when at their destination.  I would inquire about the travelers' must-haves for a trip, and make suggestions as to possible destinations that would offer this, and much more.  And if the clients know where they'd like to travel to - in this case or the former, I delve into the destination to find what would truly make their trip special, as well as experiences that would be over the top for them.  Over the years, I have used these same methods to plan trips for clients to visit Europe, and have crafted many trips to Italy, France, Great Britain, Greece and Spain, to name a few.  Whether clients wish to take a trip to a particular destination or a luxury cruise and possibly plan to stay in a city prior to and/or after the cruise - my years in travel, expertise in the various destinations and knowledge of boutique hotels that would enhance their trip is invaluable.  This is especially true when travelers are overwhelmed in possibly trying to plan a trip themselves, and therefore, are looking for an experienced  travel consultant.  This is why I love travel.  For me, planning and crafting trips for my clients truly gives me the feeling that I am in the destination, and experiencing everything it has to offer!  And it is my hope that travelers who come to me to plan their trips will also experience this and have memories to last a lifetime!
