My name is Darlene Hatcher, and I am consumed in providing quality travel services to leisure and luxury travelers.  I have found a true passion for travel to be the Caribbean Islands.  This came from traveling extensively throughout the Caribbean enjoying and visiting new destinations with my family and friends, sharing new experiences and making rewarding memories.  My motto is when you go on vacation one should be able to go without carrying a wallet or having any responsibilities.  At an all-inclusive resort, it is where everything is taken care of for you making it easy to relax.

In the Fall of 2020, I reflected on my personal vacation and that’s when the inspiration, love of helping others fulfill their travel dreams sparked!  This was the birth of JMJ Getaways where every reservation mode is given special attention to exactly all aspects of the client’s expectations.  A guest to inspire others to experience their all-inclusive destinations carefree and relish all what their “getaway” offers.

Before deciding if being a travel agent was for me, I enrolled in the travel agent program at Ashworth College and graduated with honors.  Since then, I have become an AMR Master Agent, Bahamas specialist, Trusted Travel Advisor and received several certifications on the different Islands in the Caribbean.  In addition, I continue to take many classes, courses and attend seminars to increase my knowledge of the Caribbean destinations.  It is important to constantly be updated on changes and renovations that take place.  I feel this is imperative in helping travelers determine which destinations suits them best.

To achieve my goal, I became a travel consultant coupled with my strengths of research, organization, planning events and communication.  The most rewarding part of being in this industry is helping others.  I had to learn that “life begins at the end of your comfort zone,” meaning push yourself in unfamiliar places, to do things that you would not normally do.

Outside of my fascination, I have been a Director of Parks & Recreation for 16 years. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
