What would be icing on the cake after a an African Safari?
Zanzibar is a wonderful destination to experience the rich history and culture of the Swahili Coast, as well as the pristine beaches and warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town is full of history and you can see the old fort, the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum, and the Anglican Cathedral. You can also witness the legacy of the slave trade that brought millions of Africans to Zanzibar, and visit the former slave market and the Mangapwani slave caves. You can also experience the local culture by interacting with the friendly people, listening to their music, watching their dances, and enjoying their cuisine.
Zanzibar has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with soft white sand, clear turquoise water, and abundant marine life. You can relax on the beach and soak up the sun, or enjoy various water activities such as swimming, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, sailing, fishing, and more.
You definitely can do as little or a lot. After early morning game drives during a safari, you could surely use a few days of sleeping in and waking up to a glorious white sand beach!
