About Me

When I was 22 years old, I emptied my bank account, strapped on a backpack, and toured Italy for a month by myself. I knew that no matter what I did with my life, travel, experiencing new cultures, and seeing new destinations were going to continue to be a part of it, and after a few career shifts, Pirate's Life Vacations was born in 2014!

Since I value the importance of *experiences* for learning and personal growth and have traveled with my kids in tow for years, my travel professional journey began with a specialization in family travel, As my kids have grown into teens, I still travel with them and continue to book family (and multigenerational) travel experiences, but as I continue to learn about the positive and negative impacts tourism can have on the people and locations we visit, my goal is to guide people through their travel choices to create meaningful memories while making a positive impact on our world (without sacrifice to the experience) became a passion.

With an eye on cultural and ecological sustainability, I love to help people of all ages and families navigate the world of travel and adventure conscientiously to find the perfect experience to make lasting memories with the knowledge that you will be making a positive impact in the communities and cultures you experience.

 

Sustainable Travel

Sustainable travel is most appropriately referred to as responsible or ethical travel. It is making conscientious and deliberate choices in travel to make sure that your tourist dollars are being used for good. If you are going to spend one dollar on travel, don't you want that dollar to go towards building up the cultures and communities you are visiting instead of potentially exploiting them? Don't you want your choices to benefit the native ecology, instead of harm it? It never has to be all-or-nothing, and you don't have to deprive yourself of any experience. There is so much choice out there that with a conscientious eye, it is easy to travel with an ethical mindset.

Our Family's Magical Vacations

Angela has planned 3 family vacations for my extended family of 9 in 2015, 2019, and 2022 - 2 trips to Disney World and 1 trip to Universal Studios. She was so knowledgeable and helpful to our family in creating the most wonderful trips that we could have imagined. She planned all 3 trips in such ways that we were able to spend all all our time experiencing the attractions and restaurants that best suited our family's interests. Angela gave us so much wise advice on how to manage our time and she gave us so many helpful hints. (After using one of her helpful hints, a Disney World cast member told us that our travel agent "knows what she is talking about" and that we were lucky to have her.)
Angela was always so kind and patient with me during the times that we met in person and in all our email exchanges.
I will never forget how Angela went above, and beyond, the call of duty as she planned and postponed our last trip to DW 3 times because of Covid.
I highly recomm

My experience with Angela was extremely positive. She was thorough, prompt, and available for months leading up to the trip. Her knowledge was very helpful for travel to Xcaret and helpful to optimize the experience had while there. I highly recommend her for other first time travelers to Xcaret Mexico.

Angela has become our go-to advisor whenever traveling to theme parks. She is incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and organized. When we were planning our trip to Disney World last year, we were overwhelmed by the process and strategies required to make the most out of our relatively short trip. But Angela streamlined EVERYTHING for us which, along with a packet of tactics and tips she provided, made it so easy and fun to implement. We knew after that trip that we'd be calling Angela for all future theme-park endeavors.

Most recently, we planned a trip to Universal Orlando. Once again, Angela streamlined everything and provided our agenda, along with tips and tactics to get the most out of our weekend trip. Moreover, we had to cancel our original trip due to inclement weather, and Angela worked with us to get a full refund and re-book for a later date. Thank you, Angela!
