About Me

Our journey began in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. As the plane descended, we saw sparkling blue harbors dotted with sailboats, earning the city its nickname, “The City of Sails.” The skyline is dominated by the iconic Sky Tower, which offers breathtaking panoramic views. From the top, we could see volcanic cones, islands scattered across the Hauraki Gulf, and the vast Pacific Ocean stretching into the horizon. Auckland blends urban energy with natural beauty. Within minutes, you can go from trendy waterfront restaurants to peaceful beaches and lush parks.

Visiting Hobbiton felt like stepping straight into a fairytale. Located among the rolling green hills near Matamata, the landscape is peaceful, picturesque, and almost unreal in its beauty. As we walked through the countryside, tiny colorful hobbit doors appeared tucked into the hillsides, each one uniquely decorated with flowers, vegetables, and little wooden fences. Our guided tour took us past Bagshot Row and up to Bag End, the famous home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. Standing there, overlooking the Shire, felt magical, especially since I am a fan of The Lord of the Rings. Every detail was carefully designed, from miniature mailboxes to laundry hanging on clotheslines, making the village feel alive. The tour ended at the Green Dragon Inn, where we enjoyed a refreshing drink in a cozy, rustic setting. Sitting by the fireplace, surrounded by wooden beams and warm lantern light, truly completed the Middle-earth experience.

Next, we traveled south to Rotorua, a place famous for bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and powerful geysers. The geothermal park at Te Puia was unforgettable. We watched the Pohutu Geyser erupt dramatically into the sky, surrounded by clouds of steam and the strong scent of sulfur. We attended a traditional Maori performance featuring the haka (a powerful ceremonial dance), storytelling, and a hangi feast cooked underground.

Flying to Christchurch took us to the peaceful vistas of New Zealand's Garden City! The Avon River flows gently through the city, and watching people punt along the water felt like stepping into a peaceful English town.

Traveling from Christchurch toward Franz Josef is one of the most scenic routes in New Zealand. The highlight of the trip is riding the famous TranzAlpine train across the South Island. The journey begins in Christchurch, passing through the wide, golden plains of Canterbury. and ends in Greymouth on the West Coast.

Arriving in Franz Josef feels like entering another world. The famous glacier sits dramatically between rainforest and alpine peaks, creating one of the most unique natural settings in the country.

One of the most unforgettable experiences was the heli-hike on Franz Josef Glacier. The adventure began with a short helicopter flight lifting off from the small alpine village of Franz Josef. Landing directly on the glacier felt surreal — stepping out onto bright blue ice surrounded by towering formations. Equipped with crampons and guided by an experienced expert, we walked through narrow ice tunnels, climbed over jagged ridges, and admired deep crevasses glowing in brilliant shades of blue. The silence up there was powerful — broken only by the crunch of boots on ice and the distant sound of melting water. It felt remote, wild, and completely untouched. This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that combines adrenaline, natural beauty, and the rare chance to stand on a living, moving glacier!

Driving through scenic vistas and lakes, we arrive in  Queenstown. Queenstown is known as the adventure capital of the world, and it did not disappoint. We tried jet boating through narrow river canyons and took a scenic gondola ride up Bob’s Peak for stunning views. For thrill-seekers, this is the home of commercial bungy jumping.

Visiting Milford Sound was another breathtaking experience on our New Zealand trip. Located in the heart of Fiordland National Park, this dramatic fiord is surrounded by towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and mist-covered peaks. The day began with a scenic journey through alpine valleys and dense rainforests before reaching the water. As we boarded the cruise, the scale of Milford Sound became clear. Sheer rock walls rose straight up from the dark water, and the iconic Mitre Peak stood tall and majestic above the fiord. The real thrill came on the return journey — a scenic airplane flight back. As the small plane lifted off, we watched Milford Sound shrink below us, its deep blue waters cutting through the mountains. Flying over the rugged peaks of the Southern Alps was unforgettable. From above, we saw glaciers, alpine lakes, winding rivers, and untouched wilderness stretching endlessly across the landscape. The flight offered a completely different perspective, turning the already stunning experience into something truly extraordinary.

New Zealand isn’t just a destination you visit . It’s a place you feel. And long after leaving, its magic stays with you!
