About Me

Sunset in the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, Italy
Sunset in the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, Italy

I plan custom European itineraries for people who want more than a good trip. They want the trip they'll still be talking about a year from now.

Here's what I've noticed: most people who plan Europe on their own have a fine time. They see the big landmarks, they eat at the restaurants with the most reviews, they check the boxes. But they also end up in the middle of a crowd at the Colosseum at noon in August, or they spend three days in a hotel that looked great online and turned out to be in exactly the wrong neighborhood. They don't always know what they missed, which is the hard part. The best version of a European trip doesn't announce itself. You have to know where to look.

That's where I come in. I specialize in Italy, Scotland, Greece, Spain, and Switzerland, and I've spent years building the kind of on-the-ground knowledge that only comes from sending a lot of clients to a lot of places and paying close attention to what makes the difference. The right guide in Florence who gets you into the Uffizi before the crowds arrive. The walled hilltop village in Tuscany that most people drive past. The restaurant in Edinburgh that doesn't show up on any travel blog but that my clients still text me about months later.

I build every trip from scratch around the traveler in front of me. That means asking a lot of questions before I book anything. It means pushing back when an itinerary is overloaded, because new travelers consistently underestimate how much energy it takes to be somewhere new, and my clients almost always wish they'd slowed down. It means thinking carefully about hotels — not just stars and amenities, but neighborhood, noise, how well a property fits the rhythm of the trip. The right hotel can make a whole itinerary click. The wrong one can quietly undermine everything else.

I handle all of it. Research, bookings, logistics, activity and dining recommendations, travel insurance guidance, and support while you're on the ground. My clients have access to a mobile app that holds their full itinerary and travel documents, with real-time flight tracking built in. If something goes sideways, I'm reachable and I handle it.

What I want for every client is simple: a trip that opens up your world a little. The kind where you come home and immediately start thinking about where to go next. I've had clients move to Spain after a trip I planned. I've had clients come back from Scotland and book Italy before they've even unpacked. That's what this is supposed to feel like.

If you have a destination in mind and want someone to get it right, I'd love to help you get there.

Unforgettable Experiences in Scotland
Reviewed By Jason L. - Oakland, CA | Traveled to Scotland ~ Europe
We were unsure what to expect when seeking a travel agent for our trip. We had a basic idea of things we wanted to do and see in Scotland, but it was very basic. Ultimately, using a travel agent helped us put together an itinerary that we would never have been able to do on our own. Finding spots between and around our original basic itinerary was extremely helpful. We experienced so much more of Scotland because of it. Further, helping to nail down the best places to stay and see in those locations was an immensely helpful thing the travel agent did. The activities that stood out the most were our daytrip to the isle of Skye, as well as our travels to Islay for various whisky tastings. Those are experiences we won't forget, and whenever we make it back to Scotland, we'll definitely be spending more time in both those areas.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Alaska cruise
Reviewed By Mike - Portland, OR | Traveled to Alaska ~ USA
Rachel suggested a cruise that fit our schedule and helped us navigate all the various offers and options for the cruise itself. She also showed us where to park for the week and suggested shore excursions that our family would enjoy together.
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Amazing Galapagos cruise!
Reviewed By Jaclyn M. - Portland, OR | Traveled to Galapagos Islands ~ Ecuador ~ South America
Rachel is awesome! We loved our accommodations! Samari Spa resort was incredible; the Galapagos cruise was amazing; we really enjoyed our final night at ILLA Experience Hotel and wish we had more time to spend there. We emailed about this while on the trip, but wanted to put here as well: everywhere we stayed (except the final night - thank you for fixing, Rachel!) we had two twin beds. We're a legally married couple, and while I understand difficulties with same sex couples in other countries and by no means is your fault, it was a bit disappointing to show up and always have two beds. Overall the trip was fantastic. Just what we were hoping for!
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.
