WHO AM I?

Hello, my name is Rickesia Macon but I go by Kesi (KEY-see).  I am the Owner/Advisor of K.I. Home & Away Upscale Travel.

I am a 20-year retired Air Force veteran who was also born in Germany and raised all over, so when it comes to the world, I have seen a lot of places.  I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Business Management, specializing in Travel and Tourism within two years after my retirement. 

Aside from the military and school, I thoroughly enjoy getting out and seeing the world.  If I had to list a favorite location, I would choose any Caribbean Island.  I love the beaches, tropical weather, and the sound of the water as it ebbs and flows.  And of course, living right in Central Florida near one of the largest cruise terminals in the U.S. (Cape Canaveral), hopping on a cruise ship is the quickest way to get away – second only to getting lost in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando.

Retiring before the age of 40 gave me a lot of time to dream and now I look forward to making dreams come true for you.

I am officially enrolled in the Certified Luxury Travel Specialist Program.  This will be my second luxury course but certainly not my last.  I want to make sure I can continue to curate the most extraordinary travel experience you could ever imagine.  From the finest luxury all-inclusive resort to the most adventurous bespoke independent adventure you could imagine, it would be my honor to take you all over the world – even by private plane.

To serve you better, my areas of specialization so far include river cruises with AmaWaterway, luxury ocean cruises with Regent Seven Seas and Silversea, and beautiful resort stays with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.  I also specialize in destinations such as the Bahamas, Belize, Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, more that are currently in progress, and of course, I’m a Universal Orlando Resort Specialist.

MY EXPERIENCES

I have traveled around the United States from as far north as Wisconsin and as far south as Miami, Florida.  Aside from spending part of my childhood in Germany, I have also lived in Turkey and Korea as well as visited or vacationed in Mexico, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, and Honduras.

One of my favorite places to live as an adult was Adana, Turkey.  There was so much to enjoy from standing on the castle by the sea and looking out at the castle in the sea at Kizkalesi to the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.  If there was anything I could redo, I would see the Sufi Whilrling Dervishes perform and sit in the thermal spring water at Pamukkale.

I also want to take my children to Seoul, South Korea so they can experience one of my childhood favorite places, Lotte World.  It’s the world’s largest indoor theme park and outdoor adventure park.  When we lived in Korea, my mother would bring us there from time to time and I vividly remember riding the indoor rollercoaster a thousand times over until it was finally time to go home.  Then before we left, we would get some sort of ice-cream.  It had a unique flavor and for the life of me, I don’t know what it was.  I want that memory for my children as well.
