With over 30 years in the travel industry, I have explored destinations around the world — yet Iceland stands apart as one of the most awe-inspiring and transformative places I’ve experienced. My recent trip, allowed me to explore Iceland the way I design journeys for my clients: privately guided, experiential, and elevated with intentional luxury. 

Over five immersive days, I explored Iceland’s most iconic locations: Þingvellir National Park, the Golden Circle, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, the South Coast, and the Blue Lagoon region. I hiked through a 5,000-year-old lava tunnel, interacted with Icelandic horses in fresh snowfall, cruised among icebergs on a Zodiac boat, and watched the Northern Lights shimmer from the rooftop of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Each experience deepened my understanding of the destination and reinforced how important expert planning is here — where weather, timing, and logistics matter. 

I evaluated boutique properties and luxury retreats firsthand, including Torfhús Retreat, the famous Hotel Rangá, and The Retreat at the Blue Lagoon — where private lagoon access, spa rituals, and personalized service represent the pinnacle of Icelandic wellness. Experiencing the exclusive Retreat lagoon versus the public Blue Lagoon gave me invaluable insight into guiding clients toward the right choice based on their travel style.
