Stunning Day Trip to Isle of Skye
Set out from Inverness on a captivating journey through the breathtaking landscapes of the Isle of Skye. Your first stop is the stunning Eilean Donan Castle. Eilean Donan is recognized as one of the most iconic images of Scotland all over the world. Although first inhabited around the 6th century, the first fortified castle was built in the mid 13th century and stood guard over the lands of Kintail. After exploring the castle, continue your adventure to the charming town of Portree, where colorful houses line the harbor, offering a picturesque setting for a leisurely stroll or a coffee break. Next, onto the Old Man of Storr, a striking rock formation that towers over the landscape and provides fantastic hiking opportunities with spectacular views of the surrounding area. Kilt Rock is famous for its ancients cliff that is said to resemble a pleated kilt. One might also say the colours of the rock look like tartan, but that is up to you to decide when you get to see it!
