That translates to driving eight hours on the state's interstate highway. However, as your travel agent specialist, I recommend that you get off the highway and explore the state's trails and interesting and historic geographical areas. For instance, if you travel to Memphis, you will learn more about the soul and blues music that originated in this locale. Head to the Western Plains in the state and you will be greeted by wild turkeys and bald eagles, gathered amidst the cypress trees surrounding Reelfoot Lake. The Land Between the Lakes invites campers to rest for a while along Kentucky Lake.  You can even find pearls in Tennessee along the Tennessee River. Don't miss Shiloh either, the site of an epic battle during the Civil War.  One city that you must visit on your Tennessee travels is Nashville - home to the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. The place features dozens of recording studios as well as antebellum homes and sophisticated dining.  If you visit middle Tennessee, I'd recommend taking a road trip, as the scenery is as beautiful as it is relaxing. This part of Tennessee is Walking Horse country, where sipping whiskey is made and horse farms dot the terrain.  Tennessee is also home to the Natchez Trace, a pleasant drive that historically follows overland routes between Nashville and New Orleans. You will also love Tennessee food - local specialties that include delicious fried chicken and Moon Pie for a treat or dessert. Lynchburg lemonade is the ideal summertime refresher. The Cumberland Plateau is yet another place in which you'll want to escape. Some of the best parks are located in the area, including Fall Creek Falls State Park. Whether you want to kayak, camp, horseback ride, bike, or hike, you will find the Cumberland Plateau the ideal venue for any of the activities. Another scenic place of note, Chattanooga, is the palace to go for the perfect family vacation. The city features an aquarium, parks, a zoo, caves, and lots of family-friendly attractions.
