Discover Haflinger horses in South Tyrol
They are definitely a household name for horse lovers: blonde mane, silky long hair, medium-sized, with harmonious and strong shapes, reliable, well-behaved, active and endearing! We are talking about the Haflinger, a globally recognized horse breed that originated in South Tyrol more precisely in Schluderns in the Upper Vinschgau Valley. The first Haflinger horses were bred there at the end of the 19th century - robust, suitable for the mountains and with a gentle character that makes them so popular to this day.

Visit delightful Gargazzone
A short drive from the hotel, visit delightful Gargazzone. Hike the Panorama Trail, visit the Krollturm Watchtower, and visit the apple orchards. The municipality of Gargazzone is located in the south of Merano. Although the village has good transport connections, it is still somewhat secluded, which is appreciated by both locals and tourists. There are no more than 1600 inhabitants living here at an altitude of about 267 meters. As small as Gargazzone / Gargazon may be, the village still has its own landmark. The Kröll Tower stands like a guardian above the village, built in 1240 by Bertold Chrello von Trautson. It once served as a watchtower and a defensive tower, but over the centuries it was increasingly exposed to decay. Thanks to extensive renovation work, it soon regained its original robustness. It still stands protectively on a hill today and has even earned a place in the municipal coat of arms.
