It was an absolute pleasure working with Mary Ann. She was extremely helpful from the start of planning our trip until we got home. She was very easy to work with. Always giving suggestions based on what we told her we wanted, but never overstepping. She is very knowledgeable and her experience really helped us quite a bit since we have never traveled very far or for more than a week. We had a few issues with our flights due to the airlines changing the schedules last minute and Mary Ann was easy to contact while we were away despite the 12 hour time difference. Mary Ann was great, very knowledgeable. She booked great tour guides and a great hotel. She had everything printed in our packets and ready to go so at no point during the trip was I confused as to what the day would bring nor what items I needed to take with me. The only complaint I have which isn't even her fault is the long travel days for certain gardens. There was a lot of traffic coming in and out of London and one of the days we spent about 6 hours in the car, half of which was due to traffic which again was not her fault. The transport drivers to SIssinghurst and the Great Dixter house were not great, they were not friendly, did not introduce themselves, and drove erratically.

Mary Ann designed a 10 day tour of London and English Gardens for 12 women from our Garden Club. Initially, she asked me what I was looking for, and I replied that we wanted to use London as our home base and visit specific English gardens. We also wanted to enjoy high tea, a particular, musical, and tours of London. She offered three different hotel selections that could provide us with six double rooms.. She was also very helpful when I asked her four months before the tour if eight of us could add two days to the beginning of the trip. She went back to the drawing board and came up with a hotel that could accommodate us. Using London as our base we visited six different gardens some within London and some in the countryside. We are so grateful our sister in law recommended Mary Ann. She was able to piece together all of our thoughts into an actual trip. Our group of 6 ( 2 parents and 4, in their 20’s) traveled from Boston to Lisbon,Seville then Barcelona. Our flights were a good value and well timed. Our hotels accommodated our group perfectly, giving us group space where we could all be together without being on top of each other. We planned a 12-day vacation to Alaska that included land and sea, and lots of travel connections (Alaska is a big place and we moved by plane, boat, and rail so a lot to plan). This is our 4th trip that Mary Ann has coordinated for us and she continues to always exceed our expectations! I was reluctant to consider a river cruise but Mary Ann convinced us that we would likely have a great time in all aspects. She was SO right. I had always done the planning for my own trips and for those for my partner and me, but the trip to Central Eastern Europe--including a Viking cruise--and then to the UK was getting far too complicated for me. I had heard from friends about Mary Ann Born's prowess in trip planning, so we engaged her. It quickly proved to be the right decision. Mary Ann offered up great suggestions for routings, hotels, transport, trip insurance, etc. Hotels suggested by her in Prague and Budapest were marvelous and moderately priced. Our Prague hotel looked out at the Vltava River and Charles Bridge and came with a bonus: Starz used our street to film a movie both days we were there! Sorry, no movies in Budapest, but just a block away from the Danube and great sights. Mary Ann knew the ins and outs of booking with Viking and saved us some money there. She delivered a packet of information, vouchers, reservations, maps, etc. and a great check-off list of things to take before the trip that allowed us to easily move through the month long trip with no problems. When we did have a question, she responded to our email quickly. Her knowledge and experience were invaluable in getting us there and back easily and joyfully. She and Born To Travel are a treasure.

From the Villa in Tuscany to the quaint hotel in Venice off the beaten path, every one of Mary Ann's hotel choices were just awesome. Mary Ann is an amazing woman! She plans trips so that all you have to do is answer questions about what you want to do, decide when she presents you with the options, and then pack your suitcase! She does all the planning and makes al the arrangements, which makes it possible for you to just enjoy the actual trip. She has contacts with excellent tour guides everywhere, which means you learn and see the best in every location. I have traveled on her trips to Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean--there has never been an issue in any of my trips. I cannot recommend her highly enough--and she is also particularly adept at planning family reunion vacations--on a cruise ship or in a rental vacation property. You will not be disappointed with Mary Ann and Born to Travel!

We just returned from another excellent cruise arranged by Mary Ann Born from Born to Travel. Vacations should be fun and hassle-free and Mary Ann goes above and beyond from the moment of your initial contact. She is a knowledgeable, friendly professional that takes all the worry out of your travels starting with the initial check in process to disembarking, from scheduling shows, email reminders for excursions, and setting up dinnertime. We travel with a disabled son and Mary Ann anticipates every potential need that may occur, assuring that our accommodations and all special requirements are met before we even arrive! I must commend Mary Ann for her quick response to an incident that occurred with my son (who was in a wheelchair) while returning to the ship and moving through the local security check. The actions of the local security caused much distress to my son and family affecting his transition onto the ship in the next port as well. After discussing the details with Mary Ann, she was quick to report the incident to ship authorities and further followed up with the ship company upon returning home advocating for the rights of my son. Thank you Mary Ann for all you continue to do to make our vacation cruise a remarkable event.
