Shingle beaches are rare and are made up of pebbles, stones, and other small rocks instead of sand. A trip to the capital of Zagreb will lead you to some interesting Austro-Hungarian buildings, including the city's Gothic Cathedral and St. Mark's Church, built in the 1200s.
