Hawaii has a special piece of my heart.  From my very first trip to Oahu my junior year of college to help my younger brother get settled in his dorm room to start his freshman year at BYU Hawaii, I have absolutely grown to love the Hawaiian culture and people.

I have returned many times since then; participating in a neighborhood kalua pig roasting (the fire in the imu got so hot, the sound of the rocks exploding was loud enough to shatter the windows out of several homes on the block!), learning how to open coconuts to drink the water and how to dive into the waves to avoid getting pummeled; navigating the public bus system on Oahu and experiencing so many amazing shops and restaurants. I truly love the Hawaiian islands.

Not only have I traveled to the islands many times for my personal trips, but I have also helped several families plan their trips to the islands as well!  I love educating my families on how to travel "pono" (or to do what is right and explore with care) and be respectful of the culture and heritage of the Hawaiian people.

There is so much to explore on these beautiful islands! I encourage all of my clients to avoid just sitting on the beach at their resort, but to go out and explore!  Not exploring the islands while you're there is doing such a disservice not only to the visitors, but also the islands.
