Bath Caves in Singapore

My travels have taken me to several countries throughout Asia. Below are highlights of my adventures.

Borneo

Known for its rain forests, Borneo is as green and lush as you can imagine. My favorite excursion was a night time safari where we saw crocodiles, Orangutans and exotic birds including the colorful King Fisher. Sukau Rain Forest Lodge, is one of the  National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World, where wearing a sarong to dinner each night is encouraged for all.

Cambodia

On a Mekong River Cruise I was able to experience the beautiful Cambodian countryside and witness the daily lives of farmers. We visited several villages where I saw craftsmen and women creating items using ancient techniques. In the capital, Phnom Penh, I toured the National Museum and Royal Palace, and visited a local orphanage. The children charmed us with a song and dance performance.

China

Traveling to China was like no place I had ever been. I explored Beijing, visited the Great Wall and sailed on the Yangtze River. My favorite experience was seeing the Hanging Coffins. These coffins are hung up to hundreds of feet high. These are spotted along the river in hard to reach places, the higher the coffin is placed the more respect is shown, believing they are closer to Heaven.The Great Wall I made sure to arrive very early in the morning to get great pictures before the crowds arrived. We came back down from the Great Wall on a toboggan ride! 

Malaysia

The beaches in Malaysia are gorgeous. In addition to the breathtaking sea views Malaysia offers some amazing wildlife viewing on safari.  We saw several species of monkeys, birds, crocodiles and more. The resorts and lodges in Malaysia are peaceful and eco-friendly. 

Singapore

The world-famous Gardens by the Bay are an incredible nature park in the middle of the Central Region of Singapore. I loved exploring the three waterfront gardens and seeing the light show at night. I (visited/stayed at) the iconic Marina Bay Sands luxury hotel and was in awe of the world's largest rooftop infinity pool. Hands-down Singapore has the world's best airport, With a soaring waterfall, forests, movie theater and light show. Shops and great restaurants round out this great experience. 

Vietnam

The best features of Vietnam are the gorgeous landscapes and friendly people. My most-favorite excursion ever was in Hanoi on a night time motor bike street food tour. We zipped through alleys and found off beaten path food stalls.  I ate some things I never thought I'd eat and I liked them, street food is amazing. Throughout the tour I could not stop smiling. Other highlights include Halong Bay and a 5 day river cruise along the Mekong River. 

China
