I am a retired, great-grandmother embarking on a new adventure.  I’ve always been fascinated by other countries and cultures.  I am an avid reader of historical romance novels, and my dream vacation would be an extended trip to Scotland.  So, why did I choose the travel industry and why should you choose me as your vacation consultant?

One of the most unique things about me is that there are 5 generations alive in my family and that is where the name Five Generations Travel came from.  My mother is the first generation, followed by me, my daughter, grandson, & finally my great-granddaughter.  Add to that, I am the oldest of 7 in a multicultural family so my extended family is quite large.

But because I am the oldest, I have been in charge of planning large family gatherings and vacations.  I have excellent organization skills from trying to make sure everyone’s wants and needs are satisfied.  Negotiation is my middle name from settling sibling squabbles to trying to get compromises when everyone’s wants could not be met.  I understand completely how frustrating it can be to plan a vacation, get everyone's dates together, try to accommodate everyone’s wishes, etc.  Let me take those worries and frustrations off your shoulders so you can spend your time actually relaxing and enjoying yourself and your family time together.

Prior to retiring, my career was in the Nonprofit industry.  I was in charge of programs assisting at-risk families and youth in our community.  I also served on the boards of several other community organizations.  During my career I was in charge of planning and executing events and programs not only for my organization; I also collaborated with other community, educational and governmental agencies to plan and execute city-wide events.  This included getting meeting spaces, blocks of hotel rooms, arranging event activities, and outside activities.  If you are looking for someone to help you set up your next business trip, conference, church mission trip, or kid’s sports events, look no further.  I would love to take care of all the details.

Being perfectly honest, retirement was boring.  I was used to working, serving my community, and being surrounded by family and friends.  I even planned my sister’s wedding reception and my daughter’s wedding and reception.  I missed having a child in the house, so I applied for and was accepted into our state’s Foster & Adoptive Training Program.  In December of 2021, I adopted my son, who was 13 at the time from foster care.  Having gone through this process, I am well-versed on the special rules and regulations imposed by states on families traveling with their foster children.

When the pandemic hit, I saw many companies switching to the work-from-home platform.  I decided to check out a few and contracted with a company to work from home.  I went to work with Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL assisting guests in planning their trips.  This included helping to select which resorts best suited their needs, purchasing theme park tickets, special event tickets, car rentals, dining and more.  I also did extensive training on Carnival Cruise Lines while contracting with this company. All of these experiences make me the right choice to provide all of your vacation planning needs.  This isn’t just a travel package, it includes flights, transfers, hotels, train tickets, excursions, etc.  Whatever you need to make your next travel experience memorable.
