Amsterdam: Canals, Cuisine and History
Our Rhine River adventure began in Amsterdam, a city where every canal tells a story and history resonates through cobblestone streets. In a quest for local flavors, I found myself at Upstairs Pancakes. This cozy spot, known for its mouthwatering pancakes, demands patience and a bit of luck to land a reservation—but oh, is it worth it! The weight of history settled in as I stepped into the Anne Frank House. Amidst the echoes of the past, each exhibit, each story, was a reminder of resilience, loss, and the undying spirit of humanity. We ended our Amsterdam stay with an evening cancal cruise where each bridge and historical building revealed secrets of the past, and the city lights began to twinkle, From the culinary highs of Upstairs Pancakes to the reflective corridors of the Anne Frank House, and the enchanting waterways that knit the city together, Amsterdam was an embrace of culture, history, and unforgettable flavors.
