Uluru at sunset
Having been to Australia 3 times and New Zealand, I feel like the Aussies and Kiwis (yes, that's what they call those from New Zealand) are as similar as they are far different. Beaches, barbecues, sport, forests, beer, wine—both countries are increasingly multicultural.
Australia travel is no small undertaking—it's about the size of the US, so you can imagine that spending a week will only give you a glimpse of a few cities.
Landing in Sydney, visiting the iconic Sydney Opera House, exploring The Rocks area, and taking a dip at Bondi Beach is a must. Continue north to Brisbane to enjoy the beaches and the Australia Zoo, made famous by the Irwin family. Take a snorkel and glide across the rainbow of colors of the Great Barrier Reef, one of the world’s most famous snorkeling and diving destinations.
Maybe head south to Adelaide to explore South Australia’s wine country, and continue along the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne, where you can take a hot air balloon ride or witness the magical Penguin Parade on Phillip Island
Don't forget about Uluru in the Northern Territory—a sacred Aboriginal site—and take the time to learn about Indigenous Australian culture.
Then take a short flight to New Zealand, maybe sail on an America’s Cup racing yacht in Auckland, explore the surreal Waitomo Glowworm Caves, or visit the iconic Hobbiton Movie Set from The Lord of the Rings. Head to the South Island to enjoy bungee jumping in Queenstown, or just sit back and soak in the epic New Zealand scenery.

Missy provided outstanding service in assisting us with our vacation planning. She was methodical and patient, working on general ideas first, then focusing on hotels, travel modes (trains, flights, etc.), and finally, specific activities which required advance reservations. She was able to offer alternative ideas through her vast experience of travel that were amazing additions to our trip. And by the time our planning was complete, she packaged everything in a neat, concise travel packet with everything documented in a day by day itinerary. And although we never needed to use them, we were given emergency contacts and numbers in the event of problems on our trip. Thank you Missy!!!

Our experience was terrific. We came to Missy with the plan of getting married on a beach in the Caribbean. Missy guided us through many different options to help us find the right one for us.
Missy not only was in constant contact with us, but also with our wedding planner at the resort to ensure that everything went according to plan. What could have been a very difficult and stressful process was made very simple. Her recommendation was great. We really enjoyed our resort, it was perfect for our group.
Missy was on top of every detail and prompt with responses to any questions we had or problems that came up.
Shortly before we left Missy sent us a package with travel checklists, some hints for do's and don'ts in the Dominican as well other relevant information about our destination. She even sent us luggage tags with our information already on them.
Missy provided us with everything we expected and more. We will only use Missy for our travel needs from this point forward.

Missy planned a superb trip for us, which unfortunately we were unable to take due to illness. So my review is primarily about the great job she did securing complete refunds from the cruise line and insurance company, including all airfare and deposits. I filled out a couple of forms and she took it from there.
If every trip went off without a hitch, we wouldn't always need a great travel agent. But they don't, and we do. And Missy is a great travel agent.

Missy was amazing! She arranged a great vacation for us at a good price. Our only criteria were "an all-inclusive someplace warm".
Unfortunately one day into our trip, we experienced a medical emergency and had to fly home. This is where Missy truly shined! She was able to get our return tickets transferred to a flight home that afternoon, and not only that, was able to get us a very generous voucher for a redo on the trip.
After our experience, it's safe to say we will be using Missy for all future vacations, and recommending her to anyone we know who will be traveling.

We always use Missy Skoog as our travel agent because she is very knowledgeable and has been in the business a long time. She returns our calls or emails quickly and always has answers. We have been usingg her for 25 years. Missy was extremely helpful this last trip in March for my daughter Senior Spring break when the Coronavirus increased and media was telling us to get home. We had a group of 31 people/multiple families and it was so nice to be able to just call her to get an update and everyone was able to enjoy the remaining days knowing we were fine and had a scheduled flight. Perfect Destination wedding!

My husband and I worked with Missy to plan a special trip with many of our friends and family to Secrets Silversands in Riviera Maya, Mexico in February. It was a one year anniversary, vow renewal, and honeymoon all wrapped up into one amazing vacation! We absolutely loved working with Missy! Still Dreaming of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Working with Missy is a pleasure every time. This is the third time we have booked a vacation through Missy. I find it beneficial to use a travel agent when traveling to a foreign country, because it makes things a lot easier when you get there in terms of finding your transportation from the airport to the hotel, then departing, etc. We had a bad experience in Cabo with the hotel (which had nothing to do with Missy) and she made it right for us. I like working with Missy because she is prompt, friendly and really knowledgable. I have thrown a lot of scenarios out at Missy when planning a vacation and she never minds giving us as much info as we need to make us feel comfortable planning our vacation.

Mediterranean honeymoon

This was our first time using a travel agent, and we are glad we did! Missy was easy to work with, listened to our vision for our trip and planned accordingly. We went to Italy and Greece for our honeymoon, and Missy had great suggestions since she has traveled there before. We visited with Missy with very broad parameters. We wanted to get married in the Caribbean somewhere and we had a budget we wanted to stay within. She was very helpful in showing us multiple options that would work for us and helped us narrow them to fit our exact needs. We settled on Now Onyx Resort in Punta Cana.
Missy worked so well with our guests and helped coordinate everything, which was definitely great considering we were already planning the wedding itself. Missy has been amazing since the first time we used her services! She went above and beyond to help us plan the most amazing wedding trip ever! We have continued to work with her and send all our friends and family to her because she always makes sure you're taken care of.
On our first vacation, we encountered an issue with our room reservation. I got Missy on the phone and explained the issue. She said "Don't worry about it. Go have fun and I'll take care of it." Sure enough, 2 hours later, a resort employee found us and told us everything was taken care of! Amazing!
Not only that, but working with her on picking this resort proved to be way worth it! She helped us narrow down our options and we ultimately decided on Secrets Silversands. She told us that she loved these resorts and that we were picking a great one, and boy was she right! We have continued to go back to Secrets because they are so wonderful!

We had a WHALE of a time in Cabo

Living in Minnesota by the time January comes we are in need of some Vitamin D and Sunshine, For 19 years Missy has been providing us wonderful adventures in the Sun. She has put us on Cruise ships, sent us to Ixtapa, Cozumel, Cancun, Playa, Riviera Maya, Cabo San Lucas and Punta Cana.
Each destination has been wonderful, this year we went to the Riu Palace Baja California and did several Whale Watching trips and had an amazing time.
Missy is always there for us if we need her and she makes sure that we know everything about where we are going and what we will need.
She has made our Winter getaways the best they could be and she is always willing to find us a new resort with great amenities and we have always had wonderful experiences. We travel with anywhere from 8 to 14 people and our love for Cabo San Lucas has grown so much, this was our 4th time there. Mexico is a beautiful country and we are blessed to be able to go there and enjoy all their beauty and culture!

Our Disney World trip was amazing due to the planning and expertise of Missy. Without her, I would have spent hours and hours scouring the internet for tips and tricks. With her help, I didn't have to do that. She thought of every last detail. A Terrific Travel Experience with Missy Skoog

On pretty short notice, my husband and I asked Missy to suggest upscale adults-only all-inclusive resorts in the Cancun area. Missy provided the details for five resorts within a day of our request. Once our decision was made, Missy provided all the documents and details very promptly. Because of Covid, she suggested Delta (center seat empty), and made us aware of required Covid testing before reentering the US (provided at our resort, with results within 4 hours). We stayed at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso, and the property and staff were beyond amazing. We have used Missy’s services before, and she has not disappointed. Her expertise and attention to detail make her stand out as a travel professional.

Secrets Aura Cozumel was better than I was expecting. I had read some bad reviews, but our experience was great! We had hot water in the shower and the air conditioning worked as well. We did have a little dripping from the air conditioner in our bathroom and maintenance tried to fix it for us, but it kept dripping on and off all week. No big deal. The staff were wonderful! Very friendly and helpful. The food was great at the a la carte restaurants. Our favorite was the hibachi dinner on the roof at the Sky Bar. The chef was great and the food was delicious. The buffet left a bit too be desired. Not very many things to choose from and the food was pretty bland. The beach was great, but it was kind of difficult to get into the water because of the rocks right off the beach. Missy did a great job steering us in the right direction for where to go on our vacation again this year - she always does. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone as a travel agent.

I have worked with my travel agent Missy Skoog for quite some time now and she is extremely helpful through the whole traveling process, from the first phone call to book my vacation, to answering all my questions on suggested places to travel and the different hotels and options, to the welcoming home email she sends after every trip, she truly is a very patient, caring, informative agent who sets your mind at ease when traveling abroad. After traveling to Cancun and staying at the same hotel (Fiesta Americana Condesa)for several years, (which by the way is a wonderful place to go) I decided I wanted to try a different hotel (Riu Palace Las Americas) and Missy was very honest with my hotel choice and told me that I may not be as happy with my choice of hotel that I wanted to try and gave me the reasons why. I decided to give the Riu a try as I was traveling with three other people and had to consult with them. We ended up being pleasantly surprised and extremely happy at the Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun. The hotel was beautiful on the outside, a very clean bright white building with flowers all around, the inside was beautiful with huge dark wood pillars, a stained glass area overhead when you walked into the hotel, nice clean comfortable furniture to sit on. The check in and check out was fast and efficient, all of the staff were wonderful no matter what you were doing or what area you were at. The food was good and they had plenty of options. The most impressive about this hotel is how immaculately clean it is and how well they have kept it up for its age!

My wife and I just got off a cruise on Royal Caribbeans Allure of the Seas and we had a great time. However, we had an issue with our car rental in getting to the port. Missy had nothing to do with our car rental, I booked that myself. However I called Missy on a Saturday for help. The office was closed but she called me back within five minutes. Missy spent over an hour trying to work on solutions, even though this wasn't her issue. We made the ship by the hair on our chin, but made it.
During that time Missy gave me good advice and worked hard to assist us.
We just booked another cruise with Missy and continue to always suggest that our family and friends use her.

Rhone River Cruise in October 2025

This was our first river cruise and we were 100 % pleased with Missy Skoog, our travel agent. She was professional and responsive to our questions. This was not so easy because we were traveling with 2 other couples from other parts of the USS. So 3 couples to ask questions and keep satisfied. Missy helped us with travel by air to France, then to Spain, back to France, and the return to San Francisco.
The ship AMAKristina, was clean, modern, well appointed and the staff were terrific. The food was very good and the evening entertainment was also very good. The excursions were well organized and informative. My favorites were the ancient Roman aqueduct and later to Monserrat monastery near Barcelona. Our least favorite was the night time "ghost walk" at Viviers.

We have used Missy as our travel agent for a couple of vacations! She is very friendly and knowledgeable, and makes the whole process so easy! We won’t vacation without her help! Our Alaska cruise several years ago, along with this recent East Coast cruise were perfect. Both were on Holland America, our new favorite cruise line. Missy arranged everything from airfare, to hotels, to transportation. While Alaska was my favorite, this EC cruise was wonderful too. We toured Boston and Halifax on the Hop On/Off buses. Great way to see a city! Rockland ME was such a quaint little town, with great lobster rolls. Quebec was beautiful - we thoroughly enjoyed walking the quaint streets. A dream trip!

We stayed at at the Barcelo Maya Riviera in Riviera Maya. Our trip was top notch. We loved the Adults Only hotel at the resort. Everything about the resort was wonderful. We especially appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms and the whole resort, the patio hot tub overlooking the ocean, and the amazing food all week. Also, the ocean was so beautiful with white sand. Pools and bars were excellent. The service all week, wherever we went, was top notch. There was lots to do at the resort from shows, to dance club, to excellent restaurants and buffets, to volleyball, to live music, and of course the beautiful ocean and lots of pools and bars. We would definitely go back here and would use Missy Skoog for all future travel plans. She got the best possible price for us at an excellent resort. She went above and beyond to help our son change his flight last minute (at no extra cost) due to a college exam. She did this by working with Delta on a Saturday morning for 45 minutes +,

South Pacific 6 Week Trip of a Lifetime

I had been researching the South Pacific for about 3 1/2 yrs prior to contacting Missy. I was pretty set in the islands I wanted to see & things I wanted to do but I didn't feel at all comfortable with the details of planning a trip like this for my sister & me with it involving multiple weeks, many flights & crossing the International Date Line. That meant I was a little stubborn in what I wanted & Missy came through with flying colors & gave us the trip of a lifetime. We had wanted to go to Fiji,The Cook Islands & French Polynesia & were thinking maybe allowing 5 weeks. It ended up being 6 weeks but so glad we did. Missy worked back & forth with a few different vendors to come up with a 5th itinerary that we finally agreed on. There was only 1 accommodation we were absolutely set on in Aitutaki that we couldn't get through the vendors because it was very basic & remote so Missy got us the flights to & from Rarotonga to Aitutaki & we contacted the place ourself

My husband and I were not totally sure where we wanted to go but knew we wanted someplace warm and a beach. Missy helped me sort through several options and even had to change the dates for me a few times. She is so easy to work with and would always respond promptly with any changes I made when searching. She booked our whole trip to Cabo, including flight so we didn't have to worry about a thing! We stayed at the Playa Grande Resort which has a beautiful beach front on one side and the the Marina full of restaurants and fun places to go, on the other. The resort is very clean, gorgeously landscaped, has multiple pools and bars, and the people are super friendly! We never had a bad meal either! Only problem was we should have stayed an extra week! :)

It is very comfortable, is right on the ocean and has great whale watching. Each year it seems as though we say this was our best trip but I think this year was even better. We did not go big with Resort accommodations, but we were very pleased with both resorts- Royal Kona Resort-Hawaii and Sheraton Kauai Resort-Kauai. Big beautiful rooms over looking ocean in both. Perhaps a bit dated showers in both (shower in tub). Great included breakfast at Royal Kona overlooking waves crashing the rocks below.
Big Island highlights- Volcanoes National Park is a must. Stayed at Volcanic Inn (modest B&B) so we could get early start in park-smart. Hiked Crater trail across lava field, Devastation Field, Lava Tube. Drove Chain of Craters Road to beach and sea arch.
Pololu Valley Hike
Kauai- the Sheraton Kauai was on the south coast Poipu. Great location-walking distance to restaurants and shops yet away from the traffic of the east coast - Wailua.

I have worked with Missy twice now on what I considered to be "major" vacations, the planning of which I wanted someone with much more experience than I. Awesome Trip of a Lifetime

Missy set my husband and I up with the trip of a lifetime - a 12-night Mediterranean cruise. We cruised on Celebrity's newest ship the Ascent, leaving out of Barcelona, Spain. We hit one port in France, three ports in Italy, one port in Turkey and 4 ports in Greece. All the destinations were lovely, but the stops in Greece - Phenomenal! When I told Missy what I wanted in a vacation, she suggested Celebrity and, as always, she was completely right. Everything was fantastic - from the ship, to the captain, crew, meals, entertainment, state room and excursions. There was one stop in Greece, where all the excursions had been booked already, so Missy stepped in and I was able to book an excursion through Travel Leaders. This was by far the best trip my husband and I have ever taken and we could not have done it without Missy. Thanks so much Missy. You're the BEST!!!

She starts each trip planning process with her going over what she thinks it important; she sends out maps and sample itineraries, then lets us figure out the rest. She has down complete tours for us and has down a portion or segment of a trip allowing me to plan and organize the rest. She also taps into her international network if she believes an international insight or connections will help make our trip more meaningful. When we experienced no-show tour people, or tour accidents (with no fault to her at all), she helped us try to get resolution or compensation after we returned to the states. Working with Missy was great as she gave us many options to fit our budget. The resort we chose was nice but not the best we've been to. The pools were great as there were many options (4). Rooms definitely needed updates as the outlets rarely worked and wifi was very spotty around the resort. The food was to be expected in an all-inclusive but the service was great and workers very friendly. Beautiful sandy beach and lots of shopping close by.

Italy trip the way it should be

I had long desired to go to Italy but really didn't know how to go about getting the experience of several different locations with an adequate amount of time in each. Missy was very helpful in helping me plan my vacation to Ireland! Trying to plan our trip alone was stressful. I had no idea what I was doing, and overwhelmed with all the choices until we got Missy’s help. Missy has planned a couple of trips for us now, and she's shown herself to be both knowledgable and easy to work with. For instance, I recently (foolishly!) had her book with a carrier against her advice, because it was a little cheaper than her original recommendation. My attempt go cut corners backfired when the cheaper carrier cancelled our return flight, and we had to book on the airline Missy had originally recommended, at the last minute. I learned my lesson- she knows her stuff!

Her expertise in cultural norms, tips on "things you need to know" and her patience in finding the right flights for us were invaluable. The trip was FANTASTIC. Missy gave us several itineraries to begin with and we narrowed it down from there. We picked the perfect one for us. The hotels we stayed in were outstanding...not only the hotels but the locations to shopping and restaurants, too. The adventures Missy booked for us were wonderful.
