Sandals South Coast

After five years of waiting, my wife and I finally embarked on our long-awaited honeymoon to Sandals South Coast. After we tied the knot, life had taken its course with work, home projects, and everything in between. But this trip was a promise we’d made to each other from the very beginning, to celebrate not just the wedding but the life we had built together.

Sandals South Coast, located on Jamaica's south coast, felt like a dream come true from the moment we arrived. The resort was breathtaking, nestled between lush green hills and the expansive turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The most striking feature? The sense of seclusion. It wasn’t overcrowded or bustling like some tourist-heavy spots.

Our days were filled with a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. We spent mornings lounging on the beach, the kind of relaxation that only comes with soft white sand, and no agenda whatsoever. My wife and I reveled in the luxury of doing absolutely nothing, lots of naps on the beach, lots of dirty banana drinks and many games of cribbage.

In the afternoons, we would venture out for water activities like snorkeling, paddle boarding, and I even went wakeboarding. That is until I fell face first and drank a few gallons of salt water.  There was always something to do if we felt like it, but we were never pressured to fill our days with anything. The food was spectacular, jerk chicken, crepes, fresh made pizzas and as much seafood that I could possibly eat.

While there was plenty of quiet time, Sandals also made sure there was plenty of fun to be had. Every evening, the resort came alive with a different kind of energy with live music, themed dinners, and shows. We spent our nights enjoying the martini bar or strolling along the beach under a blanket of stars. Even though the resort offered so many activities, we often found ourselves just being together talking about everything, nothing, and everything in between.

As we packed our bags to leave, we both agreed that the trip had been exactly what we needed. It wasn’t just a honeymoon; it was a celebration of us and our relationship, our patience, and our shared dreams. Sandals South Coast gave us the perfect balance of peace and adventure, a place where we could unwind, recharge, and start a new chapter of our lives together. It was well worth the wait and we cannot wait to book here again.
