Start in Kona and head south to enjoy all the big Island has to offer. Start with an amazing Breakfast and enjoy the views from the Coffee Shack. Emerse yourself in the rich culture and history of Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. Stop for malasadas (a type of Portuguse doughnut) and get a to-go-lunch sandwich on their sweetbread. Head down to the black sand beach - lots of picnic tables and beautiful views. Stop at the Volcano Winery for Wine Tasting and then drive to the Volcano Overlook, Vents, Visitor Center and Lava Tube. Driving north stop along the way at the Orchid Farm before continuing through Hilo and on to Rainbow Falls. Your Journey will take you from windward side back to the leeward side across the saddle road between Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea Volcanos. Head over to Lava Lava beach club for live music, beach seating, cocktails and pupu's or dinner ~ you might just make it in time for an incredible sunset on the beach, before heading back to Kona for the night.
