CHILE - Skiing, Santiago and Valparaiso

A decade ago, I asked my son where he wanted to go since I had some buddy passes that a friend had given me to anywhere in the world.    He surprised me by saying that he wanted to go to Chile and ski in August.    In spite of some snags with using buddy passes, we made it down to South America and completely fell in love.     

We loved skiing in the North American summer for sure, it was awesome and we went to three different ski resorts and it was life changing.   But, we also fell in love with the Chilean people, their food and their fantastic cities.

So, it comes as no surprise that we went back again the next year, armed with more information about how to make it even better and smoother and a few years later I put together a trip of 8 of my friends for a boy's trip that was incredible.

Then, after covid shut down the world for a few years, I was able to go back again with my wife and another couple where we stayed on site at Valle Nevado Ski Resort and had the best time.

There is no question that I can put together the most amazing vacation for you to Chile.     Many people, on their way to Patagonia just give Santiago a passing glance, but Santiago and Valparaiso deserve quality time for sure.

Skiing in Chile is fantastic and doing it in the North American summer is just a fun bonus.    There are four ski resorts within an hour of Santiago and many more if you head South from Santiago.
