The months between May and September, have the most sunlight and the best weather. This is a great time to see the Highlands. Starting in October, the weather is unpredictable, freezing temperatures, gale force winds and possible snowfall.

Foods to have in Scotland are the haggis, a savory meat pie accompanied with mashed potatoes and a whiskey sauce; Scottish porridge and Cullen Skink, a creamy smoked fish soup.  To drink try gin, beer, IRN BRU, a soft drink that is fizzy and orange and whiskey, of course!
