On this day you will check out of Hotel Captain Cook and take a Motorcoach from Anchorage to McKinley. Located just 40 miles from the peak of Denali, Mt. On this day you will check out of Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge and take a Motorcoach to Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. You haven’t fully experienced Alaska unless you’ve been to Denali National Park. Its boundaries encompass an impressive six million acres — the size of the state of Massachusetts. Home to Denali, North America’s highest peak towers an unbelievable 20,310 feet in the sky. The Park hosts an array of wildlife from moose, caribou, Dall sheep and grizzly bears to gray wolves and red foxes. The Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge is the closest and most comfortable place to stay when visiting the park. The entrance to Denali National Park is located only a mile from the lodge front door. Embark on Voyage of the Glaciers - Sapphire Princess
On this day you will check out of the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge and transfer to the Direct-to-the-Wilderness Rail Service:. Take the train ride of a life time from Denali to Whittier. Your travel time to Whittier is approximately 9 1/4 hours (295 miles) with the train scheduled to depart Denali National Park at 8:15 a.m. and arrive in Whittier at 6:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase while on the train. Upon arriving in Whittier, you will take a transfer to the Princess port to embark on a 7 day cruise on the Sapphire Princess. The Sapphire Princess is a jewel on the high seas - filled with innovative features and luxurious amenities. Swim in one of four sparkling pools, shop the boutiques or get a massage in the Lotus Spa. A plethora of totem poles, crafted by Native Alaskans, have been preserved by the city and comprise the largest collection of totem poles in Alaska.
