Hi:  My name is Karen Cole.  I live in Ormond Beach, FL with my husband of 40 years and our two furry friends, Benji and Ginger.  You can see pictures of them on my website at www.silverglobetravels.com.  I come from a background in Human Resources, most recently in the Hospitality industry.  In hospitality, there is nothing more important than customer satisfaction, so recruiting and supporting people to provide the best customer service is critical to success.  It's not at all different in the travel industry.  What makes a great travel agent?  Is it experience?  Well yes, to some extent.  But more importantly, it's about customer service and a willingness to go above and beyond to make your clients happy.    My career took me to many places around the world, including the beautiful United States, Mexico, South America, Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Thailand, and Singapore.   Europe, in particular, captivated me with all its culture, history, and cuisine.  However, my first trip to Italy created such a passion in my heart, that I knew one day I would have to share it with others.  I am Italian by ancestry and had the privilege to spend time in the Naples region with my grandfather's nieces, their children, and grandchildren.  I even got to visit his three-room home, built in the 1800s to house my great-grandparents and their eleven children.  It was so very special.  I just had to go back and have not done so several times, visiting a new area each time.  Next on the agenda is my "bucket list" Mediterranean cruise of Italy and the Greek Islands.  Maybe you would like to join me? Traveling is my passion, and there is nothing more satisfying than sharing it with others.  Now I have the opportunity to pursue my dreams.  40 years in  Human Resources honed skills that every good travel agent needs, active listening, a service mindset, organization and planning skills, and a strong attention to detail.   I'm so excited to have the time to devote to it.  So I started this business called Silver Globe Travels, a salute to my new senior status and desire to help others see the World.  A specialization in Italy and the Mediterranean does not limit me from planning amazing experiences in other parts of the world.   Just the opposite.  Because I book land and sea options, I have suppliers that support land tours around the world, as well as river and ocean cruises.  How?  I am affiliated with a host Company called World Via/Travel Quest and a consortium of agencies called Travel Leaders.  Therefore, I have access to hundreds of suppliers of land and sea options, as well as air, rail, and other forms of ground transportation.
