COUNTRIES VISITED:Italy, Spain
PLACES VISITED:Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Palma de Mallorca
SUGGESTED DURATION:3 Days
If you're looking for something a little different when cruising from Rome (Civitavecchia), try exploring the beautiful hill-top town of Tarquinia. You can still visit Rome for the day by train (1 hour), or relax and explore the many restaurants, cafes and views from Tarquinia. Then take a 20-minute taxi to Civitavecchia port to board your cruise. Our cruise ended in Barcelona - another fabulous city to explore, but if you've already been and are looking for something a little different, try Mallorca and Sitges. From Sitges, it is easy to stroll the many cobblestones streets and enjoy the beauty of the ocean and promenade, while only being a 40-minute train ride from Barcelona. Or...hop on a 1-hour flight to the stunning island of Mallorca. You could spend many days there exploring the various and varied towns/beaches. Take as much or as little time as you have!

While we had 5 days to explore the island (and a car is recommended), there are many options to stay in the main town of Palma, just outside of it, or across the island.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Visit the small town of Valldemossa, named the most beautiful spot on the island
DAY3

Get away from the city and enjoy the tranquility of Sitges
Sitges is located just 40-minutes south of Barcelona. Stroll the oceanside Promenade or the many cobblestone streets.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Rent a bike and cruise the promenade
FINAL THOUGHTS
If you've seen that main tourist attractions in Italy and Spain, try exploring these off-the-beaten-track gems! Whether you're extending your cruise or exploring by land, enjoy the peace and tranquility of smaller, less touristy locations.
