Travelling in Iceland is a wonder of waterfalls, warm and hot pools, iceberg lakes and volcanoes. The country is heated by its geothermal activity. Travel the ring road to visit volcanoes and waterfalls. Enjoy the capital of Reykjavik with old streets and its new concert hall. Visit one of the many areas with adorable Atlantic Puffins from May through July. Take the ferry to Vestmannaeyjar with Icelandic Ponies (and Puffins) along with many other birds that nest there. I loved the black sand beach near Vik. 

On an autumn trip to the North of Iceland, we went to see the Northern Lights, whales and ducks seen in very few places. The area is home to Harlequin ducks and numerous types of Eiders (85-90% of the Eider down for comforters is collected by hand in Iceland after the chicks have hatched), Husavik is the whale watching capital of Iceland and Lake Mývatn's famous arctic char and it famous for having more different species of duck gathered on and around the lake than anywhere else in the world. Mývatn is a legally protected conservation area and appears on the register of internationally important wetlands, along with the Laxá river which flows out of the lake.

Another way to see the country is take a cruise around the country stopping at many of the highlights with no need to unpack or drive. Or go in winter and view the Northern Lights. I'd love to help you on a fun adventure in Iceland!
