COUNTRIES VISITED:Scotland
PLACES VISITED:Edinburgh
SUGGESTED DURATION:3 Days
This was a quick visit in between visiting family and heading back to London to see more sights in the city. It may have been a short trip, but with the way the city is, you can achieve so much in a short amount of time. The city is a friendly place to visit, and very easy to navigate your way around.

Arrived by 2pm on the train and headed to our hotel near the Royal mile. That is the old town of Edinburgh, which has the main street that connects the castle down to the royal palace. We got the best welcome from Holiday Inn Express with a welcome card and the great staff checked us in. We then went out after a quick rest for an evening meal, where we got to go to Ciao Roma, which had amazing Italian food and some very interesting decorations in each room.
HIGHLIGHTS:
dinner at Ciao Roma would feed everyone

The next morning after a very nice breakfast, we took a little walk down to see the Greyfriars bobby statue. Then we went back up towards the Royal mile and did a tour of The real Mary King's close. Then it was time to do an English tea at the Dome, and afterwards a nice walk down to see Palace of Holyroodhouse. Dinner at a nice pub and a good night sleep.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Take the time to do an English tea

FINAL THOUGHTS
Edinburgh is a city that you can spend a few days in, or take longer. It is easy to walk around and see a lot of the highlights in a short amount of time. It takes only four hours by train to get here from London. It is worth a quick visit.
