There’s nothing quite like escaping to Mexico in December, when the weather is warm, the scenery is breathtaking, and the holiday spirit brings extra magic to every resort. My trip was a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and opportunity as I had the pleasure of staying at two incredible RIU properties and touring several others. From the moment I boarded my direct flight from North Carolina to Mexico, I knew this journey would be one to remember.

My first stop was the RIU Latino in Costa Mujeres, a stunning adults-only resort that truly embodies modern elegance. From the moment I arrived, I was wowed by the sleek design, clean architectural lines, and vibrant touches that made the atmosphere feel sophisticated yet welcoming. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth, instantly setting the tone for an exceptional experience.

The RIU Latino offered everything you could want in a peaceful escape — multiple swimming pools, tropical landscaping, and plenty of spaces for both relaxation and fun. I loved how easy it was to unwind here, whether lounging by the pool with a refreshing drink or enjoying the lively nightly entertainment. It was the perfect way to begin my week in paradise.

After two wonderful nights in Costa Mujeres, it was time to head to Cancun to experience RIU’s brand-new property, the RIU Ventura, and let me just say, it quickly became my favorite. The resort’s design was bright, spacious, and absolutely stunning, featuring family-friendly amenities alongside the luxury and comfort RIU is known for.

What stood out most about RIU Ventura was its energy — vibrant, fun, and full of life. The property boasted several beautiful pools, an exciting water slide, and a splash area perfect for kids and families. Throughout the day, guests could join in on activities like water aerobics, yoga sessions, and live entertainment that kept the atmosphere upbeat and engaging. At night, the resort came alive with shows and music that brought everyone together in a festive, joyful spirit.

One of my personal highlights was visiting the spa at RIU Ventura. It was a serene escape from the excitement around the resort — calm lighting, relaxing aromas, and expert hands that made for a truly rejuvenating experience. It reminded me just how important it is to take that quiet “me” time, even on an active vacation.

During my stay, I also had the opportunity to conduct site inspections at a few other RIU properties. Each one offered its own unique style and charm, but what remained consistent was the incredible customer service. Everywhere I went, the staff went above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed and appreciated, which really reaffirmed my trust and admiration for the RIU brand.

To top off an already amazing week, I attended the famous RIU All White Party, and it was absolutely unforgettable! The music, the energy, and the electric atmosphere truly captured the lively spirit of Mexico. It was the perfect way to celebrate a week filled with exploration, relaxation, and connection.

What also impressed me was how organized and guest-friendly RIU made everything, including complimentary transportation to and from the airport. Every detail, from start to finish, contributed to a seamless and enjoyable trip.

My December 2025 visit to Mexico reminded me why I love what I do. Discovering new destinations, experiencing world-class hospitality firsthand, and sharing those moments of wonder with others who are planning their own vacations. The RIU Resorts in Costa Mujeres and Cancun exceeded every expectation, and I left already dreaming about my next visit to Mexico’s sun-kissed shores.
