About Me

Haleakala National Park - Maui, Hawaii
Haleakala National Park - Maui, Hawaii

Whether you have a familial connection to the British Isles, enjoy history, or are interested in the culture, let me help you personalize your adventure to the great United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland.

I have always been interested in history and heritage and have researched the Isles due to my ancestry. My maternal grandmother's great-grandparents immigrated to the United States circa 1850 from Ayrshire on the southwestern coast of Scotland. My paternal grandmother's great-grandparents hailed from County Clare in Ireland to America around that same time. Both families found their way to the Midwest and eventually settled near each other in central Iowa.

After countless hours researching my family's genealogy and discovering fascinating ties back to the UK and Ireland (including a familial link to William Wallace and a connection to the Norse Vikings), I planned a two-week heritage journey to tour Scotland for my mother, sister, and me. We will circumvent the country by spending a few days each in Edinburgh, Inverness, Isle of Skye, Oban, and Glasgow. Near Glasgow, we will visit the village of Dalry of Ayrshire in hopes of finding more information about our ancestors. Nearby is Craufurdland Castle, which is the family seat. Our trip focuses on the country's history in addition to our family ties. We have many planned adventures and will take advantage of the rail system, quaint accommodations, and fantastic food!

I would love to help you find your connections to this beautiful area! I am a very organized, detail-oriented person with excellent communication skills. I offer personalized trips tailored to your interests and needs. As a mother of 4, I have experience planning trips for families with children of all ages and have planned many retreats for my husband and me.

Specializing in America's National Parks

I have challenged myself to visit as many of America's over 63 National Parks as I can in my lifetime. From the Great Smokey Mountains to Grand Teton and Canyonlands to Volcano, I have made it to 17 so far!

I hiked the ridge of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone with my husband and trekked to the Delicate Arch with him and our four children. We have traveled by air, car, and RV to see many of these parks. We have shared many beautiful memories and priceless moments along the way. I am excited to visit many more in the future.

Let me help you plan your next adventure to America's National Parks.
