I have always had a love of travel. The older I became I realized this passion was becoming stronger. I found myself not only booking my own families travel, but being asked by several friends and other acquaintances to assist them with their travel needs. I truly loved doing this as a "hobby".
After much thought and months of research, I decided to become a Travel Agent. I enrolled with Ashworth College and immediately signed on with a Host Agency that offered extensive training and mentoring. This allowed me to start doing bookings while I was still enrolled in the Travel Program.
I started my own business, Beach Bum Travel Agency, after graduating with Honors in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality field with Ashworth College. Shortly after, I passed the National TAP Exam (Travel Agent Proficiency) issued through The Travel Institute.
I have continued to take many Specialist Program courses to expand my knowledge of travel destinations, accommodations, and excursions available for my clients. Most recently taking Specialist Program courses in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Bahamas, and Dolphin Discovery programs. Also the USTOA Specialist Program (United States Tour Operators Association).
My goal is to always provide top customer service skills to each client. Listening to your needs and wants and staying within your budget amount. I work hard to build you the perfect vacation, this is something I pride myself on.

Working with Cathie and being honest.. HONEST...she was AWESOME!! Me and my situation and dealing with tight schedules, planning it as a surprise and a strict budget and ME having many questions and issues on my end and then my gf getting involved and having question after question....Cathie handled it ALL AMAZINGLY and gave us her time at the latest and oddest hours of the day n night!! Not too mention she found the trip that we were looking for all along and at a great savings over other agents and less appealing destinations!! I have repeatedly sent friends and family her way and I will continue doing that!!

The best travel agent

Beach Bum Travel was an excellent choice for us. Cathie (the owner) came highly recommended. We are a retired couple and never traveled anywhere until a little over 3 years ago. She has helped us tremendously in all the planning stages, making sure we understood all the travel lingo, and keeps us updated regarding any flight changes.
We never had passports either and she mailed us the forms with easy step by step instructions on how to properly fill everything out, and what is needed to obtain the passports. Even called the Post Office for us to set up our appointment day and time for the processing.
I don't know what we would do without her. She is as honest as they come and does not charge any extra fees. I have sent a few family and friends her way, and they all have the same respect for Cathie.
Best of all is that my husband and I can do everything needed over the phone and through email, no need for unnecessary driving. (Something us older folks can appreciate)
