Universal Parks & Resorts VacationsAbout Me
As a child growing up in poverty, my love for Disney was immense. I’d go to bed every single night and fall asleep dreaming of going to Disneyland-just once. That was the pinnacle of success in my young eyes. I’d save my coins in my Mickey Mouse piggy bank, but there never seemed to be enough pennies in the world to retrace the steps of one of my idols… Walt Disney himself.
I turned eighteen and made it my mission in life to escape that poverty line and to walk in the same places Walt had walked. By 19, I started on the path that has led me to my passion-travel, Disney, theme parks and disability service. I took a job as a nanny, which serendipitously led me to living sometimes in Southern California, where part of my role involved being paid to help take their children to Disneyland—the very place I had dreamed of visiting!
Over the years I've become an even bigger Disney Adult (yes that's capitalized!), and theme park aficionado. I’ve never met a roller coaster I didn't love… well almost!. I then spent years managing group homes and sidelining as a travel companion to many of the clients in those group homes when they’d want to visit The Mouse - or a certain Wizarding World. I’d help my developmentally disabled or mentally ill clients navigate travelling, budgeting, finding their way around and behavior management during our visits to theme parks like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Disney, Universal, and Canada’s Wonderland.
My journey took a new turn when I adopted my first daughter and six months later welcomed my next two. To celebrate our new family bond, we took a trip to Disneyland, where my oldest was ecstatic, and my two youngest, who have disabilities, made me grateful for my previous experience as a travel companion. Thanks to my expertise, our trip was seamless.
For nearly 14 years, we’ve traveled the world, learning to navigate different cultures, countries, cuisines and customs with my kids, who often don’t behave like other children. Every few years, we find ourselves back at Disney, Universal, or Sea World. We all love theme parks, and they can be enjoyable for everyone, including those with special needs. They don’t have to be overwhelming or over-stimulating—I’ve spent years mastering that balance.
Now, I’m here to help you navigate the travel world, whether you have specific special needs or not! I can provide tips, book your dream experiences, and help you tackle the complexities of the dreaded disability access that may be available. And of course, I’ll point you to must-try snacks—like the Edelweiss garlic cheese bread with the best beef bayan skewer and, of course, a Dole Whip! Whatever your wishes or needs may be, let my extensive experience in the most magical places benefit you!
