As a solo traveler who wanted to explore the world, I started researching different group travel options. I am also someone who is neurodiverse and found the only way to make a group trip manageable was by paying 4x as much. This lead me to start crafting group travel trips for the neurodiverse and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
With a background in stage and production management, creating itineraries, planning out activities, flights, hotels, transportation, costs, etc. was something I was already an expert in!
I started my training and found so many cookie cutter templates for itineraries to almost every location, but they lacked the personal touch. I listen to what the needs of the client are. Who is traveling? What do they like to do? Eat? Budget? Location in mind? Specific dates? I will build the trip off of you!
A BIT ABOUT ME:
I decided I wanted to travel this year as well as get my scuba diving certification. I went on a cruise solo in March around the Caribbean with NCL. In April, I went to Costa Rica for a few days, again solo. My first attempt at doing my open water test in Punta Cana, DR in May didn't go as planned. However, it wasn't a total loss because the resort & experience sparked my idea to start Sunflower's Travel and focus on a travel company for the neurodiverse community! I still wanted to get my certification and spent a week in June, also solo, in Playa del Carmen, MX where I did get my certification and because a scuba diver! I used those scuba skills to dive the Blue Hole in Belize in July when I spent a week in Placencia & San Pedro with a friend. Next up is Germany in October! I've sailed with NCL 3 times in 2 years. Also visited Paris and Portugal recently. I have almost been to all the islands in the Caribbean!
