Hi, I’m John Boehme, and I love fly fishing. As someone who has traveled to over 72 countries across six continents, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing the world’s incredible diversity of fly fishing destinations firsthand.  As a proud alum of the University of Montana, I spent my formative years living and working and fly fishing across our national parks across the Rocky Mountains. I have worked as a bartender in Glacier National Park (Many Glacier Lodge & East Glacier Park Lodge), Grand Teton National Park (Jackson Lake Lodge), Grand Canyon National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and lodges outside of the parks too numerous to count.


These adventures have shaped my life and fuel my passion for inspiring others to discover the transformative power of travel and fly fishing via the creation of Trout Lines Travel Company, our in-house fly fishing specific agency.

I am driven to share my love and knowledge of the sport and the places where my clients can connect more deeply with nature, with themselves, and with the communities that make these destinations so special. Whether guiding someone toward their first trout on a fly rod or curating a once-in-a-lifetime journey abroad, I find enormous joy in helping others experience the same sense of wonder that hooked me years ago.

Today, much of that passion is centered on Patagonia, a region that has become a second home through my family ties and years of travel there. Patagonia is a place where the wild still feels truly wild—where glacial rivers cut through untouched valleys, where wind-swept steppes stretch toward the Andes, and where trout grow strong in waters as clear as glass. It’s a landscape that restores the soul and challenges the angler in equal measure.

My goal is to help more people experience the magic of Patagonia not just as visitors, but as participants in its culture of hospitality, conservation, and legendary fly fishing. Through partnerships with local guides, outfitters, and Wisconsin brands I admire, I hope to build meaningful connections that elevate the angler’s experience while honoring the spirit of the place itself.
