About Me

Spa at Sea: thermal loungers and hot tubs
Spa at Sea: thermal loungers and hot tubs

I am a Urban Zen Integrative Therapist which means that I am trained in the modalities of Restorative Yoga, reiki and the use of Meditation and Essential Oils to promote a sense of well being in my students and patients. I do not use my UZIT practice as a business, but it plays a larger role on my life for maintaining my health and happiness. The main reason I even became certified was because I was a single mom with a 4 year old who had never slept through the night! The techniques I learned were invaluable in allowing me to teach my child to be able to calm his mind, soothe his body and peacefully sleep through the night. But more than that, the knowledge I gained have become an integral part of my daily self care routine, and are easy tools to pull out when the stresses of this demanding job as a travel professional begin to overcrowd my thoughts and take hold in my body.

My undergraduate premed studies with a major in neuroscience gave me the scientific background to actually understand that these modalities work in a manner that turns our brains and bodies away from flight or fight mode to rest and restore. These are not just some woo-woo ideas, but are practices which have a real scientific basis for how they restart our body's natural ability to regenerate, rest and heal.

So you may ask, what does that have to do with being a travel planner? While I travel because I love new experiences and seeing the world from different perspectives, I also enjoy travel because it allows my to break from my daily mental and physical patterns and routines. Travel allows me additional opportunities to enhance my wellness: I seek out physical activities that I enjoy and are part of my self care routines, such as ballet warm-ups or anti-gravity aerial arts. I explore spa and hydrotherapy sessions that physically, mentally and in other ways stimulate my senses and grounds me, resets me. Trying new and different flavors. Hearing new and different music. Learning new and different languages. All of these are ways we feed our brains, allow our brains to make new connections, create new neural pathways, and keep our brains young and healthy.

I recognize that travel is an essential part of my self-care routine and how it can be for others, as well. So when I tell you "I Go So You Know", it means that I have explored the spa offerings. I have taken the arts and crafts classes and drink seminars. I have tried the dance classes and looked at the activities schedule. I can help you find the resort that has the sort of wellness program that you're looking for. And if your idea of self care is an indulgent and well prepared meal, I can match you with the right vacation. And if your idea of self care is authentic cultural experiences, I can match you with the right vacation. And if your idea of self care is adrenaline-inducing activities and excitement, I can match you with the right vacation. And if your idea of self care is yoga classes, vegan cuisine and mocktails, I can match you with the right vacation.

We Will Have A LifeTime of Memories!
Reviewed By Jonathan - NY, NY | Traveled to Orlando ~ Florida ~ USA
I started working with Amy at least 4 or 5 months prior to the actual trip and I had no idea planning for a Disney trip would take so much effort. From the logistics to booking restaurants, learning about Genie+/ Lighting Lanes, rope drops, local places to visit, etc - I ended up with multiple spreadsheets. But at the end of it all, Amy gave me the tools I needed to understand the process, gave me countless email/ text responses of guidance and advice and made me feel prepared for the trip. Family had an amazing time, tiring of course, and we felt like we accomplished everything that we had set out to do in celebration of my son's 10th birthday celebration. Amy is so knowledgeable and has a wealth of information to share vs reading the blogs, scouring the socials, etc. She is so responsive with her comms and she truly loves her job, it's obvious. The support and guidance that she provides is invaluable and I would recommend her for Disney/ Universal/ and other types of tr

"It was an honor to be part of planning your family's Universal and Disney World vacations to celebration your son's birthday. I was so impressed to see how you thoroughly read all the information I sent and truly mastered the intricacies of both parks -- you managed the trip to absolute perfection and your family owes a lot of the success of it to you as well! I am grateful to have been part of the journey and look forward to helping you create more unforgettable travel memories down the line."

Amy the Travel Guru
Reviewed By Paula L. - River Edge, NJ | Traveled to Playa Mujeres ~ Quintana Roo ~ Mexico
I have worked with different travel agents and Amy is simple the best. None of them can really compare with the amount of knowledge Amy knows. She is seriously a real life travel encyclopedia. The best thing is that she is an avid traveler herself and oftentimes she has personally visited hotels and other destinations herself with the goal of providing her clients first hand feedback about different travel destinations. She is not pushy and is very honest about the pros/cons of these resorts and destinations. She is also extremely organized and she always creates the best personalized itinerary for our family. I'm a big foodie and I trust all her restaurant recommendations! She really goes above and beyond for her clients. My friends have used her too and they are all very happy.HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I do make it a priority to provide first-hand insights and knowledge to the families I work with, so I am so glad that you recognize and value that. Here's to many happy travels in the year to come!!"
