For years, I put off taking vacations because I couldn’t coordinate my time off with friends or family. While I had traveled solo many times before, those trips were usually for work or other obligations – not the kind of restorative, joy-filled adventures I longed to experience. On top of that, I was often too busy to research destinations, activities, and logistics on my own. Deep down, I wanted to explore, but planning and scheduling kept me from taking that leap.

Everything shifted in 2024 when I reached out to a friend who is a travel agent. She helped me book my very first solo cruise – and it completely changed my perspective. Traveling solo for leisure was liberating. I discovered the freedom of creating a journey tailored to me, without waiting on anyone else’s schedule. That trip left me energized, inspired, and eager for my next adventure.

Through this experience, I realized I wasn’t alone. Many people want to travel but feel held back by busy schedules, planning challenges, or the idea that solo travel has to mean going it alone.
