For 20 years, I lived and worked all over the world with the United Nations. And during that time, I came to know a large number of countries very intimately. Once I retired from the United Nations, I could not think of a better way to share my knowledge and experience than to become a travel consultant.

I was also fortunate enough to have roamed throughout much of Europe, and I have also spent time in Israel, Jordan, Thailand, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

Superbly organized South American voyage- the best

Our group of 20 persons included family and friends. Timpo Travel Agency planned the trip; booking the cruise and all the land tours that were taken in ports of call. The agency negotiated the best prices for the selected tours. Whenever possible, private tours were used for our group which allowed customization.
Of note, Dr. Emelia Timpo is a professional who has traveled extensively. She applies this experience in the leadership provided by the Timpo Agency: suggesting a variety options for cruises and tours; keeping the group informed of deadlines and managing the trip details. The agency was very responsive to the needs of the group.
The trip was fabulous.

I found Emelia by googling "Ghana travel agent". There were a handful of agents on her site with Ghana credentials but something about Emelia's profile seemed very genuine. I decided to reach out to her first and I never looked back. I wanted to take my family to Ghana and this woman in New Jersey who I had never met named Emelia Tempo felt like the right consultant to make it happen.

Emilia is a wonderful, knowledgeable agent. She provided us with lots of good information on river cruises so we could choose the cruise that worked best for us. Our trip was outstanding! We listened to Emelia and followed her suggestions of places to visit. We stayed at 3 different hotels and they all had different and appealing features. I'm vegan and I was able to eat plenty of food. Most days came with breakfast and dinner. I didn't miss not having lunch at all. I must tell you the tour guide that Emelia set us up with, Kwaku was so informative, kind, patient and funny I wanted to take him home with us. I will miss him as much as Africa. Having a driver is a must or you will be sorry, trust me on this. I had "NO" problems at all with the trip. Use Continent tours and definitely use Emelia, she knows her stuff. Thank you for all the new experiences.

Gold Blast was truly a wonderful trip. The accommodation was perfect. The attraction sights & events were spot on. Restaurants were just up the group’s alley with adequate choices of local vs. seafood/fish dishes on the menu.
You stepped in expertly linking the group with your seamstress. Auntie Susan and Linda went over and above the call of duty. I cannot thank them enough. I've adopted them as my seamstress as well. We will make sure to stop by their shop on our next trip to Ghana. We will commission them to sew outfits for at least 4 individuals. You and can speak privately on how best to show them our gratitude.

Effortless travel to Africa

Emelia arranged all of my logistics for this Crystal cruise including working with the travel agency, flights, hotels and transfers. Cruising East Africa was a easy way to get to see Mombasa (Kenya), Dar es Salam (Tanzania), Zanzibar, Madagascar and Seychelles. I recommend a few days prior and a few days after to really explore after traveling so far from the East coast of the US.

Emelia Deserves Six Stars — She's a Travel Agent Who Actually Cares Where do I even begin?

Emelia was beyond phenomenal. My parents were finally taking their first big adventure to Ghana from South Carolina, and I was, naturally, overthinking everything. I basically had her on speed dial, and I'm sure I drove her crazy with all my questions. She took every single one of my calls with such grace, professionalism, and genuine patience.
The arrangements were all top-shelf. The lodging was 5 stars, completely secure, and exactly what two active seniors needed to truly enjoy their time. The transportation was perfectly orchestrated, the set up made my parents feel like absolute VIPs the whole way through.
What really separates her is the action mid-trip. When a questionable charge came up, I reached out to her, and she handled it immediately. She got on the horn, called everyone necessary, and got the issue cleared up quickly. She was a fierce advocate for their experience and their wallet.
My parents have traveled internationally before, and as African-American seniors, they've and they have good experience experiences. This time, however was amazing, smooth sailing—respectful, easy, and totally stress-free. That level of care for their journey home made the entire trip worth every penny.
Booking international travel for older family is stressful, but Emelia took all the worry right off my shoulders. She treated my parents like her own family and handled our concerns like they were the only things that mattered.
If you're looking for an agent who doesn't disappear, who is incredibly easy to work with, and who truly delivers—Emelia is your person. She gave my parents the trip of a lifetime, and I'm eternally grateful.

Scenic Scandinavia and its Fjords

From the moment I started planning this trip, it was a positive experience. Initially, the destination was not set, just an idea. Emelia listened to my ideas about a possible trip. She then sent several trips that fit with those ideas for me to review. All the trips sounded fabulous, but Scenic Scandinavia and its Fjords seemed like the perfect trip. Emelia made booking the trip, the flights and paying for the trip so easy. The trip was worry free from the beginning. If I had questions, Emelia was an email away. Her answers were clear and calming. She is an excellent communicator, both in spoken and written word.
The trip was wonderful and well planned. Trafalgar's Travel Director was organized, knowledgeable, prepared, prompt and an excellent group leader. Our bus driver handled the huge bus like a true professional. We always felt safe and well informed throughout our travels. My husband and I both think Trafalgar did an excellent job. Emelia started the process by introducing me to Trafalgar and then making the whole process easy and stress-free.

This may have been the best trip I’ve ever been on, seriously. I have traveled for decades for business and pleasure, domestically and abroad, organized group trips and solo endeavors, luxury and low ball. The trip Emelia put together for us was the chef’s kiss! A balanced blend of planned tours and freedom to explore, knowing all the practical details were taken care of for us— and those details were perfectly reflective of our likes/dislikes/needs/wants. A Perfect 25th Anniversary Celebration!

Emelia organized our trip for our 25th wedding anniversary. We wanted something special, something luxurious -- and it was! Every aspect of our journey was perfect. We were picked up at the airport, our hotels, the train station. The hotels in Bordeaux and in Paris were fabulous -- so much so that we are looking forward to staying at both of them again. And we can't say enough about the AMA Waterways Bordeaux river cruise. This was our first river cruise and we considered many different lines. Emelia steered us to AMA Waterways, and it was the right choice! We met many experiended river cruisers on the ship, and they all like AMA Waterways the most. My husband and I used Ms. Timpo for our very first trip to Ghana. She was absolutely wonderful - so knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. She was also very responsive via email and was willing to speak with us on the phone as needed. I feel like we were well prepared for a trip that required so much planning and foresight. From the moment we touched down in Africa, we barely had to think about anything. We had our own driver and guide the entire time. Emelia booked our 11/20 Viking River Cruise. She was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient.We had to cancel because of the Covid-19 virus. Ethiopia Made Easy

OMG, working with Emelia was a DREAM. I found her via a google search and read her reviews and decided to work with her. She was knowledgeable about Ethiopia, planned a trip perfectly tailored to our requests, showing she understood us right from the start. She arranged a guide who became a friend, and also was tremendously knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. She was responsive to emails, was patient as we reviewed her suggestions and gave useful advice about tipping and the like. She was always pleasant, was available in the evenings, which helped because we both work all day. Even though we never met her face to face we feel like we have a friend in travel. Every plan she made was flawlessly executed, and that is a lot: we were met at the airport in Addis, met our guide, traveled to seven different cities, stayed in seven different hotels, took four domestic flights, had four (I think) drivers...and every connection was made, everyone showed up, it all worked.
